I think they are just playing under the same tag for shits and giggles. MC is... Esports management now, but no tag or other players. Might as well have a few teamless buddies in a clan tag.

a little bit of both I'd say. Welmu stayed out of vision long enough for Yoda to think that he might come from the other side so Yoda had to waste minerals on extra bunkers and Welmu kept waiting until he had the perfect spot to attack.
But then Yoda derped really hard, didn't lift his CC, attacked in a terrible position (he could have pulled back to get a better concave) and tried to fight with more then half of his bio not even shooting.

I love how Protoss have actually started to use hallucination for non scouting purposes. We saw hallucinated stalkers to artificially inflate the size of the army the other week, so cool.

Seed was a visionary 3 years ahead of his time.
Was he the one who did that blink all-in and got high ground vision with a hallucinated colossus on Metalopolis?

He hallucinated immortals on close position Shattered temple against Boxer. Faked an immortal all-in and took a third on the other side of the map.

Yoda was doing so well then decided to take the worst fight he possibly could. With that base already dead there wasn't even anything to fight for there. Not to mention the non-existent management of those drops he sent out.

So where is he in the world rankings? Near the top?
Leta is still #1 for choosing Supernova as his favorite SC2 player. Khaldor is pretty high for remembering B4 beating Nestea. Artosis gained 25 points for talking about Yugioh during Leenock's group. Rotterdam has like 500 points for talking about how Jjakji was top 6 Code S before he went to WCS EU.

How you can get most hipster points? How much?
You have to reference or remember a vague SC2 match or fact that is interesting and extremely unknown. Bonus points for relevancy.
For instance, remembering Huk beat idra with hallucinated void rays gives you 0 points.
But remembering that Ensnare hates idra because he called him a faggot and he will never forget is worth 150 points.

It has been a while since anyone mentioned that ForGG actually won an OSL back in BW roflstomping Jaedong in the finals. Maybe it will be said during WCS Ro8!

MSL. -50 Hipster points for misquoting.
edit: and that's not early enough, and not sufficiently anecdotal for maximum hipster points.

More hype I suppose. Like that the two most important matches are last.
Personally I think it's stupid. Let's put this hypotesys: Tod loses against MC so he goes to the losers. Yet, if he wins that one he is in advantage against the loser of the winners match because due to his race he can study his eventual opponent in the same matchup.

I agree with you, though I don't think its that big of a deal.

Not that much, but the loser of the first series shouldn't be supposed to be at an advantage. And in two groups of the ro16, it's the second time the situation may arise >_>

Not so strange since ESL runs both now
for making it to the winner's match and losing you deserve the right to rest for a few mins while the losers match is on, better to play 2 games when you have the momentum than play win, take a break and then play again.

His army at Tod's main got killed and, therefore, Tod's production was untouched. Yoda wouldn't be able to hold his ramp, Tod would camp his production = gg.

Ugh. Killing the gas with workers never works out well. Soooo much lost mining, especially when you are doing this gold base thing and each SCV is bringing in so much more income than it normally would. Yoda is so far behind now.
Yoda took a bad engage, losing a big chunk of marines for 2 collosi - this meant that the gateway units were now stronger since marines are better vs them than marauders. His upgrades were also delayed. And Scarlett says upgrades are a HUGE deal.

Yoda used his scv to kill the gaz while massing marines, then attack with 10 marines or so, ToD only has 1 zealot and 1 stalker and lost like 14 probes to 10 marines.
On June 11 2014 03:51 Jampackedeon wrote: I looked away right after the assimilator steal, what happened?
Marines ran in and killed half the probes. Very anticlimactic.
Reminds me of 2010, actually. Miss your Force Field, lose the game.
Except he didn't even build a sentry...
Therefore he didn't have a forcefield, therefore he lost the game :p.
What is worse, to have the sentry and miss (like Bisu) or to not have the sentry at all (like ToD).
Most definitely a Bisu-field
My favorite Bisu FFs were this one time he attacked with 12 zealots and 5 sentries against 4 spines and he perfectly forcefielded the spines so they could not be attacked by the zealots.
So far the only thing that differs from TeamLiquid's predictions is the order the matches have been played in. Good effort by ToD but that was pretty sad getting caught off-guard by the marine push after a gas steal.
Unrelated: I like how MC just wears a shirt with his name on it. Like, "Hi, my name is MinChul, you've probably heard of me."

Has he ever been on the big stage far into an offline tournament? It's pretty hard to care about a player if he doesn't have a story behind him.

I haven't had much time to follow SC2 lately... Is Welmu really good enough to beat Korean players consistently or was this just his lucky day? I don't mean that in a bad way. I just can't remember the last time a foreign player 4-0'd his way through a group with 2 top tier Koreans...

This year, Welmu, Vortix and Snute have all defeated loads of Korean players. They all reached top 8 in WCS EU last season.

Welmu is good. But my assessment of this statement:
2 top tier Koreans...
Yoda is a good player, but he never accomplishes anything outstanding. MC is exponentially worse at PvP as it nears the finals our a tournament.

Yeah but his ro32 performance was not that good. He was 2-1 Demuslim and Stephano, both nearly retired players. He is one of the best europeans for sure but I don't buy this hype. I think he will not go very far in this WCS.

When MajOr was really playing he was a cut above the rest, I think his earning a spot on 8th team trumps Fenix's making IM way back then any day. Not that anyone ever heard from Fenix after that anyway (I think they killed him), but Major definitely was up there and could be again. He has issues staying on teams, which has limited his exposure I would say.

I think this is the best chance for a foreigner to win WCS Europe with Welmu and VortiX doing that well. I know we were already saying that last season but with MMA and jjakji down, MC struggling against Welmu, it seems doable.

EU qualifiers are weird in that way. A bunch of pretty good Europeans, bracket luck and the time difference lead to a lot of Koreans not doing nearly as well as expected

Dayshi. I don't understanf why people think that Major is the best foreign Terran or something. He never was.
Beat Bbyong 2-1. Beat Welmu 2-1. Beat Scarlett and Huk 1-0 1-0. Beat Symbol 2-1 Elfi 1-0 Stardust 2-1 Lost to Jjakji 2-3 Harstem 2-0 Oz 2-0 Taeja 2-0 (lost to him later 0-2) Scarlett 2-1 Nathanias 2-0 Polt 3-1
Add that to the fact that his actual macro, control, and multitasking looks on par with top koerans. He just looks really good whenever you see him play in games.
Juan's biggest weakness has always been found outside of his actual gameplay.
Yeah, its a shame that he doesn't conduct himself too well outside of the game. Imagine if he was much better with that, he could be signed to another team and flying to lots of major tournaments.
He has never been on a team with the resources to send him places. 8th team was never interested in getting him out of Korea once they got him there and when he was on ROOT, they were far less established than they are now.
If there had been an EG.Kitty, Princess, WinDy or what have you, I think we would have seen him going deep far more often.

Precisely, Liquid has been generally up front about the type of player they are after, but attitude seems to have much more weight than for most teams. Which is one of the more endearing qualities of the team. Poor Juanito, I wish he could find a team that could get him out to some events.

He made a deal with the devil. He wanted to offer his soul, but the devil wanted his afro instead.

Yoda is the worst interviewer of all time. Beyond that he was known as being the best player in the IM team house when IM was the best team and he did win the first ever HotS tournament at IEM Katowice. Since then he went on a major decline.

Zeratul can ^^. Not really impressed at all by YoDa. He was playing so scared in all the series. Even while running away he would have been more cost efficient if he turned on the blink stalkers.

Naruto used to say that sarcastically when he was in LR threads. At least I think he was sarcastic.

well, that is always a possibility but I still think we should get this to the blizzard forum. I would like to see Narruto biting in the table ;-)

Yeah, it hearkens all the way back to IPLTAC3 finals when YoDa finally had a perfect opportunity to break Taeja with a huge army knocking on Taeja's door, where the bunkers had just been salvaged, but YoDa chickened out, went home, and eventually lost the game. I think excessive caution has always been his weakness, and it's hurting him more than ever now.
Meanwhile, MC and Welmu, two of the most decisive players in the game, advance today... no surprises there.
Love me some DeMuslim. Keep at it Ben and don't let them hyper-hypers like Kaelaris drag you into being overhyped on every single situation. Keep calm and stay awesome.
