I've gained a new appreciation for Brood War as a game from this match. I think I just needed commentary from someone who was willing to explain it a bit - that was s skill that SC2 casters picked up that I dunno if BW ever had. That being said, the circlejerk of BW > SC2 still taints my perspective a fair amount. But I understand where the appeal came from, and the fact that it's so hard to call a fight is something that I really do find interesting.

Also it's easier to mass-produce marines in SC2 and the marine counters in terran and protoss are worse than they were in SC1.

well, in the context of the games, sc2 marines just crush sc1 marines in their utility. they are literally the central unit in 90% of terran builds.
Bio was only key in TvZ from my limited knowledge, and even then going Mech was a popular choice.

Great showmatch, loved every bit of it. One more thing I miss from BW was the design of the air units, dogfights between wraiths and mutas or the rare cases of scouts was so entertaining.
