This is the reason why I don't see many terrans go for 2 reapers before reactor, there is a strong risk you won't have enough marines out in case a proxy oracle comes knocking.

I don't really agree with trading the 2 reapers for 4 scvs (over 2 attacks, less impact when harvesters are killed over a number of attacks). Keeping them around map, and later poking to see unit comps or tech would be worthwhile, saving a scan or two.
Reality stared off strong, but I fear that his passivity now could cost him the game, I'd like it if he'd be out on the map more, trying to make things happen.

He tried, but the MSC got back in time. Sora did a great job zoning out the marines at his third as long as reality's reinforcements weren't in place. I feel like reality could've done a lot more though, did he use his 4 barracks to their full potential?

Reality shouldn't have lost all his Vikings there in the middle. When the toss has so many blink stalkers and colossus you need an absurd number of vikings, like 20 or more so you can destroy the colossus quickly. If the colossus don't die fast enough then your bio army dies.

Sorry but TvP is getting ridiculous at this point... Also it's kinda sickening to hear stuff like "brilliant photon overcharge" or "sick time warp" as its not really hard to pull off, especially on pro level. Really frustrating to watch from a Terran's pov

Problem still remains though, Sora had tons of Colossus and you want those to die asap, yeah keeping the Vikings over the air space helps a lot, but you still need a big enough mass of vikings to kill them faster then they can kill your bio.

Well it is a huge map and it takes forever to get mech army cross spawn.. Also he is obviously not as comfortable with mech as some other terrans like Flash or Supernova.

I can dig that, but it still seems like suicide to go up against (imo) the best zvsbiomine player in the world on a map that big

HOTS TvZ was really exciting before the change, it's too bad honestly.
Mech has to be one of the worst things in the world to watch, I honestly dunno why anyone would enjoy having that be the dominate form of play again.

As a CJ fan i have to say that Sora is a lot overhyped thanks to that somewhat lucky one time good form WCG run . He doesn't seem solid and especially in PvZ he lacks a lot .

Let me argue against that as a non-Sora-fan: I think his moves in PvZ so far show a lot of in-depth game understanding. His micro is pretty precise and on-point. I understand why he's hyped, though I don't follow the hype. I hate protoss as much as Zealously Roro, sry.

He doesn't have good understanding , he plays 2 base all-ins and didn't make the best decisions, micro doesn't give you an in-depth game understanding .

Speed Mod, all units move and shoot 180% faster. edit: DK would try everything to get this implemented on ladder i guess.

Really solid TvT from hack. Build orders were well thought out, macro crisp and his movements got right underneath realitys defence.
I think reality opened a little greedy in the second game though. That map is one of the harder maps to defend 3 base tvt and trying to get fast double ups as well seems overly ambitious. Guess he wasn't expecting hack to be so aggressive.

With the speed of oracles, it doesnt really matter if hes in the middle of the map or at his natural. Atleast untill stim is done

he was 2upgrades behind and lost all his crucial units, he wasn't ahead at all but he was free to go to a comfortable lategame situation. Then he had an awful max with a low viking count and not enough ghost (Sora was so far down in pop that he could've max on 20+ ghosts easily). If you're behind on upgrades and have no ghost/vikings/medivacs left you're almost never ahead if the game continues at this stage.

Hack tried to get something done with early aggression, enough said. Reality also tried on Frost vs very early 3rd nexus and it didnt do anything. Poor guys

Its a two terran and two zerg, group and Ryung + Dream are solid competitors, while their opposition isn't as strong, they dodged Life, Curious, DRG and Symbol. Both Ryung and Dream have a huge shot, if we are fortunate we might get both in GSL.

So many of the Protoss TLers pan the games where Terrans lose as the Terran playing badly - without really explaining how. I think you raise some valid points - like sora's army positioning.
For my part, I do focus on where the Terran Pros could have done better - like positioning vikings over dead-space, utilizing flanks instead of getting choked in with your whole army in an uncomfortable position,etc.

Yeah, couldn't agree more here, Macro mechanics in BW are also way more similar to each other without warp-in and inject... And with the frequent patching of SC2 in the past they already changed A LOT of things (quite a chunk of them unnecessary, I feel), so I think, there are certain aspects that need to be adressed and there's just no way of waiting until the game develops and players figure out stuff by themselves (I mean, look at TvP, what's left for Terran to check out?! Since 2010?!)

TvZ is currently 10 v 11, so 48% with one game separating them. That's a bit different from the 1821% winrate T has against P.
Furthermore, Supernova and Bbyong made it into Code S by beating zergs. While not a single terran who had to play against a P made it into Code S.
While I don't think everything is alright in the TvZ MU after the WM nerf, this Code A does not show us that there's a problem.

Dream is like a rollercoaster, he shows amazing games but then falls down again and stays basicly hidden for months. Then he is amazing again for a short period and falls down again.. I dont know what to expect from Dream, but i rememmber that he was pretty good at TvZ as you did aswell

That's because terrans can actually beat zergs reliably, whereas in TvP they've won 1 BO3 of I dont know, 15?
Zerg is in a perfectly fine spot because it seems to have a good chance of beating both T and P. Protoss on the other hand has a balanced matchup in PvZ and absolutely rolls any terrans they come across.

Gumiho, Bbyong, and Supernova (4-0 vs Coca even) all won their TvZs.
Hack, Bravo, Cure, and especially theBest all losing at the hands of zerg is understandable given their ability and who they played.

You know what ? It was pretty much what I said back in 2011. The only difference is that I didn't bash the terrans who won. And it was not only one season, it was a vast majority of the GSL seasons in 2011 in which terrans doubled the number of protoss, including GSL October when there were 20 terrans in code S RO32 for 5 P, only 1 P making it to the RO16. I wasn't even whining hard, just saying facts. And yet I was like a heretic here, people being like "terrans are just naturally better" or shit like this.
Of course I understand your frustration, I really do. I don't say I want a revenge because P has seemed unfavored in the past. Not at all. That would be so stupid. Actually I really hope TvP gets fixed (either by a meta change or a patch).

Yeah, I mean... sure, there is an edge for protoss in PvT matchup, there's not denying that. Besides maybe minor balance tweaks that are needed, things like map pool and metagame are heavily contributing towards that.
But the worst thing for me is that people now just circlejerk about terrans losing and not for one second stop and think about whether the protoss players are actually good. They are completely neglecting the fact, that those protoss players would probably win anyway - herO is one of the best protoss on the planet, Sora is the biggest hypetrain since DRG and everyone who followed last years Proleague has known that Classic will make a huge splash this year. Yonghwa was always capable of beating the best opponents, Squirtle is Code S player since forever and Zest + Stats are very good in their own right.
So yeah, while all of them HAD a slight advantage in the matchup, it's still a big accomplishment and it actually pains me that everyone is attributing that to only the balance and not to the players skill whatsoever.

Protoss lost their 5s storm warpin base defense (kaydarin nerf). The Code A / UD / Code S structure delayed the effect for Code S. (Plus at the beginning of sc2 many top players choose T / nowadays imo its more even cause there are established star players for all races.)
Imo its a matter of maybe one month, then we will see P nerfs from Blizz.

As of now idk if Sora is pretty good or what. A few months ago i would say Sora is pretty good but with the current situation of tvp and the state of protoss in particular. I am doubtful he is that good from what i am thinking or is just benefiting the current state of the game right now like how other zergs beat other player who are far beyond their level during BL-Infestor . Maybe i am underrating him but it is hard to not to underrate a protoss right now.
Though i didn't doubt Reality would lose to Sora since i feel like Sora is overall better than Reality. I guess.

There is no denying that Protosses in Code S are some of the best players in the world. The problem, I feel, is that our assessment of player skill is quite dependent on how the race globally does (be it pure strength, being ahead in the metagame, maps, etc..). Like, I, Terran player, would probably consider Reality as mediocre (because let's face it, he loses a lot) and Sora quite good, because he wins shit, but I think I should wait a bit before calling every Protoss who wins a TvP godly and every Terran who loses a TvP awful, if you don't mind.
Seeing these games, I feel like there's two things wrong in the TvP matchup.
Speed boost medivacs need to go or be significantly nerfed, and the radius of EMP should be reduced by one. To make this a fair matchup, you can't give one race all the mobility and make the other rely on a weaker version of the (OP) PF.

I'm going to attempt to decipher this as you whining that there aren't any Terran players considered skilled because they have been weak for a while which is hiding their true skill. I would like to point out that most of the good Korean Terrans ran off to the other WCS regions.
Bomber, Polt, Taeja, MMA, Mvp, Jjakji, among other Terrans who have left Korea to play in Europe and America. Compared to the number of Protoss who made the switch... Duckdeok. Then he retired. Innovation should have made Code S, but his TvP has been deceptively weak for a while, losing to Naniwa in the Season 2 finals, Duckdeok at Blizzcon among other surpririsng losses. Flash has struggled heavily in individual leagues ever since he made the switch, his grand achievement is finishing last in the group of death and almost beating Life at MLG when Terran was considered stronger and the game had just been released. None of these other Terrans have ever been higher quality then low-tier Code S player or journeyman Code A qualifier.
Also: for every Terran who you'll consider good at TvP, I will probably find 10 Protosses you consider good at PvT. Conversely, for every Protoss you consider bad at PvT, I will put down my pants and go get ass-raped by a boar.

Creator is kind of bad at PvT. The only terrans he's beaten since June 2013 are hanbin, Labyrinth, Legend, and Bunny. He even just lost to eins in the IEM Cologne qualifiers.
I dunno where you're going to find a boar, but I'd recommend backing out of this deal.

He looked impressive. Not as good as his dominating best but better than I have come to expect from him recently. He did make some mistakes in his final game against Sora but he was so far ahead that it didn't matter. If he plays like that it will be good to watch him in Code S.

this is very true. Reality has a 48% TvP winrate on aligulac (worst matchup) whereas Sora has a 75% winrate in PvT (best matchup). Reality hasn't won a TvP since October and since that win he is 0-7 against 7 different protoss players including Tassadar. Meanwhile Sora is 11/13 in his recent PvT's beating players like Flash, Dream, and Bbyong.
Yeah, I mean... sure, there is an edge for protoss in PvT matchup, there's not denying that. Besides maybe minor balance tweaks that are needed, things like map pool and metagame are heavily contributing towards that.
But the worst thing for me is that people now just circlejerk about terrans losing and not for one second stop and think about whether the protoss players are actually good. They are completely neglecting the fact, that those protoss players would probably win anyway - herO is one of the best protoss on the planet, Sora is the biggest hypetrain since DRG and everyone who followed last years Proleague has known that Classic will make a huge splash this year. Yonghwa was always capable of beating the best opponents, Squirtle is Code S player since forever and Zest + Stats are very good in their own right.
So yeah, while all of them HAD a slight advantage in the matchup, it's still a big accomplishment and it actually pains me that everyone is attributing that to only the balance and not to the players skill whatsoever.

Maybe not definitely in Code S but they'd at least be competing for Code S spots. aLive is another Terran that is outside Korea, MMA, Mvp who have been outside Korea for awhile, and YoDa who recently left. Those are pretty damn good Terran's that are no longer competing for Code S spots, which would in turn create less protoss/zerg spots and even out the numbers a bit. But a lot of the Terran's either underperformed like Flash and TY who didn't even qualify for code A, and there were a lot of good groups with 2 Terran's, like Bbyong and Fantasy who got matched up against each other and ended up knocking 1 terran out. So it's been a combination of bad luck, the current map pool being pretty strong for certain PvT builds(cough blink stalkers cough) and there just not being that many really good Terran's in Korea right now. Try and name the top 10 korean terran's and I guarantee you the majority of them aren't competing in Korea. It's just how it is at the moment, but I do think certain tweaks need to be made to the matchup, but there's a lot of things that haven't been figured out yet. A lot of the Blink play was in response to the greedy builds terran's were using. For example, INnovation, MMA, Flash, were using a lot of 2racks (1 reactor, 1 techlab) which isn't nearly enough production to get out enough marauders to deal with blink stalkers. The thinking was that 1reactor barracks was essentially 2 barracks production. But the problem was the 3 barracks build (1 techlab, 2 non add-on) which allowed them to get 1 more tech lab after scouting blink. That wasn't possible with this build and it made Blink really strong. You will notice that basically anytime a Terran gets 3barracks a Blink all-in fails, or they don't even attempt it because they know it won't do as well.

ofc Terran is complaining about Protoss. Only a single bo3 has been won in a TvP and it was really close with the protoss totally shitting the bed (even lost to mech).
Gumiho, Bbyong, and Supernova (4-0 vs Coca even) all won their TvZs.
Hack, Bravo, Cure, and especially theBest all losing at the hands of zerg is understandable given their ability and who they played.
You know what ? It was pretty much what I said back in 2011. The only difference is that I didn't bash the terrans who won. And it was not only one season, it was a vast majority of the GSL seasons in 2011 in which terrans doubled the number of protoss, including GSL October when there were 20 terrans in code S RO32 for 5 P, only 1 P making it to the RO16. I wasn't even whining hard, just saying facts. And yet I was like a heretic here, people being like "terrans are just naturally better" or shit like this.
Of course I understand your frustration, I really do. I don't say I want a revenge because P has seemed unfavored in the past. Not at all. That would be so stupid. Actually I really hope TvP gets fixed (either by a meta change or a patch).

Protoss lost their 5s storm warpin base defense (kaydarin nerf). The Code A / UD / Code S structure delayed the effect for Code S. (Plus at the beginning of sc2 many top players choose T / nowadays imo its more even cause there are established star players for all races.)
Imo its a matter of maybe one month, then we will see P nerfs from Blizz.
Sorry but this is something I don't believe to be true. Other than this I understand what you mean, but I wasn't asking for an explanation about why P had some bad times in GSL. I was just pointing out the difference between what we were able to say as sad zealots, compared to the amount of whine that we can see recently. At that time, if I just said "so many terrans in GSL", I would be bashed and told that the protoss opponent was so noob or something like that.
If this week I said that the terrans lost because they were all noobs, with all the mad marines around I would have been flamed to death. And this is understandable, some maps look like dumb when it comes to blink allin, I understand the frustration.
I m not asking an explanation, just saying the community should be aware of this kinda bias when it comes to race bashing and whine.
