Is Liquipedia wrong in that it is top8 advance or are these WCS EU casters totally clueless?
Just when I thought I was out, Blizz pulled me back in..

I think top 8 advance because of all the people that dropped out and the ro8 matches are played because of seeding.
Thats the last thing i heard about it

Good to see Europe holds.

well, it is actually Blizzard's "fail" with 200wins. wihtout it, they coud have played/practiced serious on kr server instead just make 200 wins on eu for WCS EU. Blizzard announced that 200wins 3 weeks ago.

The point of that is that whoever wants to play in WCS EU should be a part of the EU ladder.

Instead of actually doing that they just tried to cheese the system and get around it with the least effort possible. So fuck them.

Harsh words, 3 weeks isn't that long of a time. Maybe the way they did it was faster?

Yeah and how likely is it that we will see them train on EU for season 2?

I think they will retire. But not very likely, seeing as they live in Korea. I feel you're criticizing the system in place, not Yoda and First.

funny thing is that all the players you listed come from countries which are part of the Council of Europe which has the same flag as the EU :D

EU doesn't necessarily have to mean European Union, it is generally held to also be short for Europe. WCS EU = WCS Europe, not WCS European Union.

The blue flag with the twelve stars can also represent the European continent, and not just the European Union. In fact it is also the flag for the Council of Europe, which includes Russia, Norway, Turkey, Switzerland, Ukraine etc.

Obviously the system isnt perfect as it still allows abuse like this to circumvent its original goals.

Still I'm not one to feel sorry for the abusers.

Its pretty confusing that theres not a clear answer whether top 6 or top 8 will advance. Especially considering that Lucifron and Duckdeok have retired and is probably the reason liquipedia says top 8 will advance, even though it seems the rules state top 6 will advance.

It's retarded. At least 4 streams are showing a match that isn't even running at this stage.

I think you should ask Dimaga, Verdi and Snute first. I am sure they will be delighted to have input on that matter. /s
