Taeja won't beat life in a bo5/bo7 imo.

based on this bo3 you think Life has the edge? :o

Based on what? This Bo3 didn't say anything. Game 1 Life was in control the whole game, then had one of those derp moments where he suicided like 10 Banelings and floated over the Marines with 20 Mutas and then he didn't have enough units to defend the 5th base.

Second game was a huge gamble as Apollo said because he thought that he can trap the Hellions, but Hellions just get back in the base and all-in failed.

I don't say that Life has the edge, but these games really didn't show much, these guys play on such high level that anything can happen in Bo5.

On game 1 Taeja pushed out while maxed and had like 30 less workers and 3/3 vs 2/2. The banelings and Mutas insured the loss but he was pushing in a position where he had a WAY stronger army and was still at 4 bases with very little damage. The idea that Life wins easy without those derps is plain wrong.

Might as well call it Dreamhack Liquid considering how many finals they have been in.

Or DreamHack Bumblebee, since his players won DreamHack Winter 3 times in a row now, with the 4th victory line up nicely so far.

Yes I know that but he is way too young and too good to retire.

He has wrist issues though right?

Pretty sure you could say that about just about any of the top players for Terran and Zerg. Or at least it seems that way.

Taeja always impressed me because he combines a lot of what you would need to be the perfect Starcraft player. He doesn't really have a "flaw" so to speak and all his specs are really high.

Maybe he's thinking about going back to school, he did earn a lot from sc. It'll the smart thing to do

i think he just wants attention i just get that feeling. i mean whats the reason to mention it in every interview possible? without actually doing it

i guess a part of him wants to retire but another part of him keeps saying "dude! look at this shit! you're winning every tournament you enter! cash just keeps being thrown at you! you really gonna quit this shit NOW?"

so he keeps playing around with the thought, and so he talks about it (maybe also to prepare his fans a bit) but he keeps playing until he feels it's not worth it anymore. you know, like Stephano did.

Yes I know that but he is way too young and too good to retire.

Hence he pulls a Stephano.

Well here's the deal. If he retires now, he pulls an Elway and goes out on top. If he waits, he may just fall off and have a Favre like end to his career.

By the way it is true. Thor makes sniping mines harder, terran has much larger army and better upgrades. In fact it looked even grim for Life when i looked at supplies.

Taeja best player of 2013

at least most successful and consistent.

So best player then.

Well, peak performances and the hight of their peaks also have a word in this, when there are Soulkey and INnoVation which have not been far off in terms of success and consistency, but have the more meaningful tournament wins.

You could argue Taejas peak performance is right around there. Look at who he has beaten here. Innovation, MMA, Hero, Life, sOs, ForGG, and Sjow. Look at DH Bucharest and it looks pretty similar. The whole idea its a foreign tournament so not as hard is a little silly in this case. He played only 1 foreigner and only one other player isn't a code S level player.

Don't want to go in detail too much, but winning a GSL is a much stronger peak. Not just playerwise (Dear, Soulkey, soO, Maru; while the players you call Code S calibre have partly failed to qualify for Code S more than once this year, or really aren't like ForGG or Sjow) but also formatwise. The preparation time and the longer series in the later stages make it much harder imo.

Edit: Don't want to take anything from Taeja, but for as long as he avoids Code S, it's hard to judge.

oh, don't get me wrong, i love the happiness. i just think it's funny to remember him not showing any emotion upon winning a tournament and comparing it to now with that big smile on his face when he's not even won yet :D

He already explained he was just super tired and exhausted and just wanted to sleep, and apologized for looking as though he didn't care. People need to get off TaeJa's back about that already :p Most of the time I see TaeJa he's grinning from ear to ear.

And the fact that Life chose wrong/bad builds and made big mistakes is the reason why he would win a bo5 but not this bo3. Got it

Would you say that Innovation would undoubtedly lose to Life in a Bo5 because of their previous series? It was the exact same situation there too. One wrong decision in Game 1, one bad build in Game 2.

look where it started. He said Taeja wont win vs life in a bo5.
