Yeah but who decides to give two slots to Jordan? Maybe it was two slots for the whole middle east or something like this.

Doesn't matter. I thought more people would be appraising the country's move to not participate in such events anymore until the WCG is brought up to speed.

Surprised how some veeeeery good players didn't make it:

Surprised d.Killer didn't make it in his region (SA), and EU - it's represented by Daishy, Hasu, LiveZerg and Brat_OK ??
And how the hell did Bling make it anyway :o, was UK a separate region or sth (the guy's even not in Premier, or at least I don't think he'll hold onto) ??

Also - where's Australia (or at least NZ) ??

The qualifiers must've been lacking a lot of good players.. rofl.. , though --> wish them some good luck

Think PartinG's got this though.. (I think..)

That's a good question, where IS Finland?

Never heard of it, sounds quaint, though.

I have to say, WCG is always quite underwhelming in my opinion.

It will be a bit busy, but that weekend could have plenty of action with WCG, Red Bull and DHW at the same time. I'll follow this if I can, looks interesting! Don't know what people are complaining about really. My only grief is that Sweden of course should have sent a representative. Surely Sweden could spare one for WCG in spite of it being at the same time as DHW?

For what I know each local organization pays for the slots they want with a maximum of 3.

I did´nt post flags in the first place, I just TLPD´ed the whole post and have no idea, how to post flags/races. Everything wrong regarding flags got filled in by the TL mods, when they put this into news, so I take no responsibility for that.

BlinG actually won his Challenger Group, so if the system would remain unchanged, he would be in Premier League.

Because it used to mean a lot more, and now is just a shadow of its former self. It's like if the GSL were to continue 10 years from now, but in a very very shitty state.

That's only true because people stopped supporting it.

If everyone were to stop supporting GSL but they still hosted tournaments because they love eSports, then it would be the same as WCG.

No, WCG screwed up themselves. That's why people stopped supporting them.

They had huge potential but simply blew it. Maybe some of us will shed a single tear when it finally dies, but overall most of us agree that it has to die eventually.

There are many reasons as to why people stopped supporting it. The only reason it meant something to some people is because it was the only place players from outside of Korea could really convene for PC games, but because of poor administration, game selection, and slow progress (it's like being stuck in 2006-08). It's always lackluster. Reason it got hyped? Because it's one of the oldest tournaments, but the industry has moved far above it.

Exactly. They have only themselves to blame when it comes to lack of progress and at the end of the day they're the decision makers.

I have no idea why Stork will be in China.
