Skillwise, it's not WCS. But the importance of having this worldwide esports cultural event is undeniable. tl;dr: it's not about taking a list of the best players in the world and having them compete, it's about a cultural exchange of the best players from as many countries as possible. | ||

Me and some of the boys wanted to try to host a WCG Ireland comp. The idea was to have an all-Ireland contest, and even of we had no chance in hell of sending people over to the finals, we'd at least have settled the best Irish player. No however, you can't even do that with an army of people working on it for free (as we would have) because the license is pricey. Can't hope to recoup that for a tournament featuring only Irish players | ||

Mental. | ||
