Maybe a more stupid question is why should NaNiwa get a chance at a Bo5 with Revival when Revival made more points from WCS than NaNiwa? Every place with a tiebreaker other than 16th/17th is decided this way. >_>

They only compare the wcs points within top 16 because it's just for seeding. There's no reason you have to play extra match if you're already in.
On the other hand, it's important for 16/17th place. It's the matter of in and out. Every point counts. Extra match is the best way to sort it out. If they compare the wcs points, it's unfair and it belittles other Tier 1 tourneys like DH and IEM.
Having said that, I want Naniwa and Revival both out. Places for Trap and Dear.

Because Blizzard said so  I think it makes sense, this is the "right" way to do it anyway, but when it is for seeding only then it is not worth the effort, so they let the WCS/non-WCS thing decide instead. But seeing as they never said before that the non-WCS points will be "less valuable" in qualification, it would be pretty shitty decision to now say that they will be.

On the other hand, it's important for 16/17th place. It's the matter of in and out. Every point counts. Extra match is the best way to sort it out. If they compare the wcs points, it's unfair and it belittles other Tier 1 tourneys like DH and IEM.
Having said that, I want Naniwa and Revival both out. Places for Trap and Dear.
It makes sense when explained like this. Why couldn't Blizzard explain it like this when they released their statement on the topic...

Damn. On one side i want for Soulkey to win, because why the hell not.
On another i want tired Maru to win, for lulz.
On third one however i want Dear vs Trap 4-3 epic awerawjtuhatomawejkaworjaower finals with carriers vs carriers in game 7.

I would personally argue that there's an unfair advantage for players who have the funding and support to go to events like DH and IEM (ex. Taeja) whereas lesser known players or players in financially strapped teams (ex. maru) would have trouble flying to these events.
Though, I get the idea that those tournaments should be worth something which I agree. Maybe a little less than what they are worth now since a large portion of the player pool isn't able to play. Though Blizzard already made the points less than WCS so my argument would be more of how much each tournament should be worth and that's extremely subjective.

Yeah, but all those ZvPs are from like a month ago... A lot can change in this amount of time. :D
