Yeah, Polar Night makes me extremely anxious whenever I ladder on it. But maybe I am just imagining things.

Maybe its just Life being an alien but ive seen him go early pool against terran and fail but still go on and win the later on. Besides, proxy rax is as much an all in as roach bust or whatever. You have to do damage in both cases or you are very far behind. You must have seen many games with roach busts doing loads of damage and the zerg backing off with his lead to just out macro the terran later.

Isn't it an issue with resources? Can't afford to go Hive as you're being rallied into all the time. And if you go SH's wouldn't you have less mutas to stop drops, and then just have Terran drop all your expansions save the one where there are SH's?

you are keep cutting the muta count down, not just 3-4 mutas slower. 500 gas total for 3/3 upgrades when mines one shot lings and banelings is really questionable if you even want to grab it

Its 350 gas initially to go up to hive so you cut 3/4 mutas. Yes 3-3 upgrades is 500/500 but as I mentioned, those additional mutas that you get and not get hive prevent you from potentally having the better lategame. You need room to breath and Symbol HAD IT to go up to hive. I can see your point that if its a constant rally that INnoVation puts up its hard to get that room to breath but Reality really didn't do it that way.

I feel that as a Terran I dont have to micro as well as before and the Zerg has to micro MUCH better. It just seems as though Zergs can't play equal to a Terran and win. That means that a better Zerg will win but more often when two players on the same level the Terran wins. This doesnt mean Zergs have no chance though.
Could be wrong though, maybe the collective Zerg race just got worse, they are a hive mind after all

yeah its a bit problematic that you have to invest gas and take that risk just to give your self the chance to get the upgrades. You might not end up affording investing in to those 3 -3 upgrades once you hit hive and then you dont feel to happy about it. Its hard and complicated situation

i think the overseer change helped a little bit as far as i can see .. but zerg still lose horribly against terran in war of attrition ..
this time though its symbols fault and and not because of the meta game .. although i liked the baneling mines .. and the last few minutes were so intense and positioning was insanely important even though we already knew symbol lost.. if tvz was frequently like that that would be awesome

this game was lost because of Symbols wasteful Mutalisk control. I don´t think I saw even one big widow mine hit there. I know all Zerg players want widow mines nerfed to the abyss, but imagine how TvZ would look without widow mines. Symbol just made a few too much mistakes here. And not dronescouting in game1 definately adds to this.

Well it's hard to have enough vikings when there are no collossus. It's not worth getting them just for the speed prism.

Nice enough but Symbol, but I don't understand some of his moves. Barely any static d despite upwards of 100 drones, and a pretty late hive despite having more than enough room again. Keen wasn't even applying the aggression as hard as some terrans do.

This game was interesting. Symbol played well and looked like he had it under control but there was still so much he could have done better. So much potential there with all the resource floating and late upgrades etc.

Thors are hilariously bad against magic box and their movespeed obviously doesn't allow them to run after mutas, plus mutas don't care about Thors volleys with their regeneration so no, I doubt they'll come back.

2/1 Mutalisks against 3/3 marines, on 4 bases vs a 3 base terran? If your able to get rid of the entire Terran army in a cost efficient trade, the 25+ mutalisks just win the game, but before you do that... not really.

Well, 25+ mutas can run around main 4M ball, other talk is when most of 4M is split in small parts and main army just died to lingbane engagement.

Maybe if Keen had taken a fast 4th and made 20 barracks with reactors that can work. But you can't give symbol 80+ drones, wait 5 minutes and then attack...

Now that Trap is through to ro16 I think Symbol going through would be fine. It's nice to see him be super consistent so making to another ro16/ro8 would be cool :3

Probably Drilling claws + fourth + second Starport (no idea why he built it, perhaps mistake) + production. When playing 4M your mineral should theoretically never/rarely go above 500 anyway, but not everyone is called Bogus or Flash

There weren't lings though, he only made drones. At least poke the queens and force some additional defense. He didn't even push back the creep. Creep shoudn't be across the map when 6 Hellions are out that early.

Yes, and how is KeeN supposed to know? Queens have range 5 since more than a year; you can't deny creep spread ad infinitum, Queens just repel your Hellions, and again you don't know if Zerg has 0, 5, 15, 30 Speedlings in the back waiting for a sign of weakness to overwhelm your Hellions. You don't control the lateral paths on Derelict, so for instance you have no way to know if Zerg hasn't sneaked 25-30 speedlings by the north to raid your third. Hence why you have to be cautious with your Hellions.

Floating minerals is indeed a concern, but you also have to take into consideration larva count. Does he spend his larva now? Does he save his larva for better units? Does he even have larva? Though he should have had a macro hatch.

I went to sleep after Keen v. Trap and just caught up with the rest of games. Happy for Keen and I think two more deserving players moved on from this group. I am slightly worried about Keen, though. His play style changed dramatically from what I knew in the past. He used to execute sharp attacks in a decisive manner, which did not always work out.
Now he plays kind of like mixture of DRG and Byun. He seems very reactive to what he scouts (good) and extremely map-aware (also good), but his engagements leave something to be desired (bad). Not as decisive when needs to be, either. Granted it's easy for viewers to say, but his overall play feels overly cautious. I used to get frustrated the same way about DRG and Byun.
