The way Bomber splits his marines was so ideal against Jaedong. I noticed that Bomber always leaves 1!!!! marine in the front to let the first 2 banes explode on. This buys alot of time for the rest to be splitted up like a god. It was looking really good.
I wished Jaedong used some Roach strats. Would have made the games even more intresting

Balance good whine.

People pretending like JD was as good as Bomber on this day, meanwhile Bomber killed him in the final game playing marine/tank like it was 2011. Face it folks, this final was not indicative of balance by any stretch. One player was simply better.

So I take it that Bomber's Law would indicate that he goes out 0-2 (with 0 games won of course) from his group next season?

Bomber wasn't OSL champ, though (I assume that's the curse you're pointing out)

So the curses have to remain identical while cross platform transferring?
I'm just not sure.

That being said Maru seemingly have fallen to almost textbook case of OSL curse.

Looking back on things it seems the standout performers this tournament were definitely Bomber, Taeja, and Jaedong. No doubt in my mind if Jaedong went up against yet another Protoss, any P in this field, in the final he would have won it convincingly. He obviously has been working really hard in this matchup and looked ridiculously good creative ZvP. I'd favor him against most zergs ZvZ but as we know not many in here. Always worried about how he'd play in a series against a great terran (after that 0-4 to Polt), and with so many top-level Terrans in this tournament he was bound to meet one (if Taeja had beat Bomber I think Taeja would have crushed Jaedong as well :/). He looked terrible in that final series... think he needs to start taking a lot of notes from Scarlett who took a couple impressive maps over Bomber playing her standard style.

But yeah Bomber's builds were tricky and ruthless... throughout the tournament. Throwing in the occasional cheese, varying up his builds from map-to-map, with great macro standard play to back it up. He definitely seemed to have more smarty map-specific strategies prepared than most other players in this tournament in my eyes. And that preparation was most evident when he had a ton of time to prepare for the group stage... when he totally breezed past Grubby and First, and definitely looked like had some TvZ tricks prepared for the knockout stages with his already great TvT to fall back on. These days, being one of the best in your respective race's mirror matchup goes such a long way in making deep runs in these weekend tournament. Innovation may have the best TvZ in the world but doesn't count for shit if you don't play against any zergs.

Was hoping Jaedong would pull this one out, but Bomber definitely deserved it, that was not an easy road in the knockout stages. Taeja should also be really happy with his result, he looked so dominant this weekend except for a few instances where he slipped a little in that 2-3 series against Bomber... he's a beast and still in good position in the overall WCS points standing (top8).

Biggest disappointments for me were Maru and probably Polt (and to a lesser extent Innovation, but he's looked fallible lately when not playing vZ).

Alive doing so well was quite a surprise, he was so damn close to beating First and getting the the Ro4... still, he continues to rack up those WCS points quietly (heh invisible terran). And Scarlett had a really nice run. Losing to the eventual champion in the Ro8 in a close series, massive props there. Her ZvT has to be currently the best in the world.

To Bisudagger, Bisu is way ahead of Flash even though Flash always wins their series XD

Bisu beat Flash in the winner's league finals and the PL finals when Flash looked unbeatable in his vP. But I made this statement earlier and I think it frames the situation well.

It's like telling a shaq fan that they are anti micheal jordan
I can love one of the greatest for his position (shaq) and still have respect for the greatest of all time (Jordan). Which is why I have no qualm about saying Flash was the greatest BW player ever. But Bisu was the greatest protoss.

I agree, but do find it a little troubling that the best ZvTer in the world, Scarlett, lost to a Terran who's weakest matchup is probably his TvZ. This goes for Bomber as well as Alive I think.

Wow. There was a list on TL this whole time? I'm sure it is complete and accurate depiction of the history of BW and their accomplishments all compiled into the decision making of that list and not just based on how certain players won enough games in a row to top that list.

There is evidence to suggest Jaedong was #2 player in the world. It's your right to think that this evidence is inconclusive, but to think that your home made list somehow trumps it, and to call people fanboys over not believing in your perfectly subjective list is foolish.
