Most of the WCS NA and EU koreans also reside in Korea. What sets them apart is that they are used to traveling, especially Jaedong who's been going to pretty much every European tournament lately. If we talk purely about ability WCS Koreans are going to be on average better. They also aren't used weekend tournament style of play, considering that all tournaments in Korea happen with long downtime for preparation in between matches. MVP has substantially more travel experience than people like Rain, Innovation, Soulkey, etc. So obviously he's going to play better and also his most recent win in EU was against subpar competition. Just look at Leenock. He wrecks foreign tournaments, but can't even make it into code S in Korea? Why do you think that is. It's because his skill ceiling isn't as high, but he able to tap into more of his potential on the road than other Koreans can because he's so used to traveling. | ||
