Its time for the 2013 edition of the "Lake Charles Scion e-Sports Thanksgiving Open"
This is the third year of the tournament and this year's edition features Starcraft 2: HotS
The main tournament will be a simple single elimination tournament with up to 48 players. The first three rounds will be played over Battle.net between November 1st and November 16th and the Round of 16 through the Grand Final will be played live on December 14th, 2013 starting at 1:00PM CST at Lake Charles Toyota Scion in Lake Charles, LA. The prize pool for the pro tournament will be approximately $5,000 USD. We're going to have a professionally produced live stream with big name professional casters on site, and the word from our friends at TeSPA is there may be some big name pro players in the ring too.
To participate you must be at least 16 years of age (under 18 requires parent/guardian consent) and have a unique Battle.net ID. No employees of Lake Charles Toyota Scion, Toyota Motor Sales USA, or Blizzard Entertainment will be allowed to participate in the Pro tournament. Registration opens September 1st.
There will also be an amateur tournament of up to 32 players running concurrently with the Pro tournament. The amateur tournament will be played entirely onsite at Lake Charles Toyota Scion, starting at 1:00PM CST.
Sweet! Glad to have you onboard LzGaMeR. Please bring as many friends and fans as you can to cheer for you. We need as many people in the audience as possible since were doing a live webstream. Shouldn't be too bad of a drive for y'all down I-10. Like us on Facebook!
While registration is not officially open yet we are obviously sensitive to the fact that players need to make plans to attend. Registration opens September 1st, but if you already know you definitely want to attend go ahead and send us an email at esports@tarverautomotive.com and we will hold a spot for you. Be sure to include your battle.net ID and a good method of contact.
Pretty sure etarv mis-spoke... registration opens 1 September... Early registration deadline is 1 October. Final registration deadline is 31 October. It says in the rules that registering before 1 October guarantees you a spot, regardless of your league. After that, lower league players will be bumped for grandmasters, then masters, etc. once the rest of the field starts to fill up.
ScionGorilla is right, should have been September 1st, i edited the previous posts and they are now correct. We are super excited about the interest we are getting so far, everyone keep spreading the word and plan to attend if you can, even if you are not playing, its going to be an awesome day!
There was a great question asked on the Facebook about how we are going to get people to come to the live event in addition to just playing online. Our intention is to get the best players, and produce an awesome live event thats worth traveling in for.
One thing we learned from our tournament last year is the best way to get gamers out to our place is to give the gamers what they want! (And also free pizza... done!)
So lets hear it SC2 community, what do you want? Anybody with ideas you would like to see put into our event, or with something you know has worked well (or been a disaster) at other community events, please let us know here on forum or on the Facebook.
Our event is scheduled for 23 November... but now they just announced Red Bull Battlegrounds NYC for the same date. Do ya'll think that will be a problem? We can consider changing the date to Dec 7th or Dec 14th because I doubt we will have any luck trying to get them to change theirs lol. Should we change or just stick with 23 Nov.?
Thoughts?

Can we get some feedback, maybe from some of our TeSPA friends, on how these dates line up with University finals? I know here in Lake Charles the 7th of December is right in the middle of finals. Is that going to be a problem for any of you students?
We're getting close to making a decision on a date but we haven't got a whole lot of feedback here... let us know if you have a date preference. we don't want anybody to have to miss out because of other plans.
Update: we've basically eliminated the 23rd because some community VIPs are unable to attend that day, as well as our casters. It's definitely looking like December 7th is the day, possibly still considering December 14th, but as Xeris said, it may be around finals time, and also that's getting a little close to Christmas.
The new date for the event is now officially set for Saturday, the 14th of December, 2013. This is a bittersweet decision as we know it is not the first preference for some participants. However, we had to make the decision that we felt would allow us to produce they best possible event for the entire community, and we hope many of you will be able to adapt your schedules to still attend. Stay tuned today for a big announcement that will make it clear why we had to choose this date and hopefully get everybody as excited as we are about the event.
Kevin "RotterdaM" Van Der Kooi and Ben "MrBitter" Nichol have just come aboard. We're excited to have them on the team for our live event and twitch.tv stream.
We've got the registration forms up finally! Thanks for your patience. All you have to do to get registered is get us a filled out form somehow. You can get the .pdf file by clicking here. All the fields on the form are required, so please fill it out fully. If you have questions email us or call us and we'll walk you through it.
You can...
print the form out and bring the form to us at our dealership, 3905 Gerstner Memorial Drive, Lake Charles, LA 70607
email it to us at esports@tarverautomotive.com
fax it to us at (337) 478-3580
SMS it to us at (337) 540-7451
Just get it to us somehow and we'll secure you a spot. Everybody please get the word out because we MUST have at least 64 players (total pro and amateur division) registered before November 1st or we're going to be at risk of having to cancel the event. So get signed up!!!
Just got verification that Adam and Tyler Rosen founders of TeSPA (Texas e-Sports Association) will be attending our tournament as well. We are very excited by the community involvement so far, keep it up everybody keep spreading the word and get your registration forms in ASAP, also stay tuned to the facebook site for further updates and announcements.
Due to a higher than expected interest from international players, we are considering hiring translators for common languages. All the official tournament business, broadcasts, etc. will definitely be in English, but if possible we'd like to help with communication at the event for international players whose native language may not be English, or they may speak some English but not fluently. If you would like to come to our tournament and would like us to try to have a translator for your native language, please visit our facebook and vote in the poll so we will know.

Thanks for taking interest! I know we're half a world away but if anyone from Axiom is interested in competing we have some programs for travel assistance for current and former GrandMasters. I wish it weren't such meager assistance but we're doing all we can to help high level players attend and compete. Contact Jeremy at esports@tarverautomotive.com or Facebook message us for details.
Also, if any non-player representative from the team would like to attend let us know and we'll reserve you some VIP access passes.
I just saw a new post up on the facebook page https://www.facebook.com/events/304055589738831/ The guys are trying to score a group discount on hotel rooms for people staying overnight. Go leave a comment if you are planning on getting a room so the guys will know how many to reserve! This tournament is going to be so awesome!
We just got the registrations from Hui, Slam, and Ian from You Flash Wolves. We're stoked to have you guys on board! Can't wait to see some pros from the Taiwan E-Sports scene bring it. We'll have bios of all the players once the tournament gets a little closer, but as these guys are all GM and all pretty much dominant in their home country SC2 scene and have made some appearances in the WCS America Challenger League I felt like their upping was worth a shout on TL. Check them out on liquidpedia here.
Hey everybody this is something ya'll might want to check out when it starts up. This dude is putting together a web show about the NA SC2 Scene, going to feature up-and-coming pros and give NA fans a way to get to know them, their stories, their rivalries, etc. Seems pretty cool. Hopefully we'll see some players who are coming to our tournament. Check it out when it starts up in November.
We are trying to get some group rates on hotels so please let us know ASAP if you are interested. We also have a game house that we are letting people stay in for free. Just let us know your situation and we will try to help you out the best we can.
I don't know if it's actually the highest prize pool but we sure hope so!
We knew that to get fans to come out to our event we had to get big name casters and big name players. So that's what we did. RotterdaM and MrBitter, plus a $2000.00 grand prize and another $3000.00 spread out to the other top finishers, plus lots of free stuff and free food, not to mention lodging and transportation assistance. And we've got more big announcements coming up as it gets closer.
If you build it, they will come, right? We hope so, because we're doing our best to build it.
Just want to remind everyone that registering before October 1st GUARANTEES you a spot in the tournament regardless of your league. So if you are planning on participating go ahead and get signed up!
Don't forget that today is the last day for preregistration! If you sign up before the end of the day today you will be guaranteed a spot in the tournament.
Just as a short reminder: They need at least 64 players. There are 16 right now. To all americans in that area, I´d recommend to sign up for this now; even if you get ripped to shreds in the first round, I did´nt see smth. like as registration fee, so you don´t have any real disadvantadges by doing that and you are massively helping the event.
I´m curious to see, how the taiwanese players are doing internationally, as the entire roster of YFW signed up for this (Well, not the entire roster, now that San joined, but the taiwanese part).
Yes. Xoronius is right. There is no registration fee. It is completely free to come play, and we even offer travel assistance to masters and grandmasters. Thanks Xoronius.
Don't forget we have an amateur tournament for those of you who want to play but don't think you can hang with the GMs. We even have a bronze league division! All players are welcome to come play
We need a casting team to be the back up for Rotti and Bitter. Even amazing caster like themselves can't go ten hours or so without their voices running out of juice. We are in negotiations with a team to possibly cast the online games but we just found out they aren't able to attend the live event. We are looking to interview a pair of casters to back up BitterdaM for the live event, and possibly cast the online games too. We estimate the B team will cast about every third series or so, depending on how much relief Kevin and Ben need. If you're interested email esports@tarverautomotive.com and if possible send us a link to a youtube site or something where you have some casts.

Go to our Facebook event here and look towards the top of the page, you'll find the registration form. Fill it out and send it to esports@tarverautomotive.com. If you don't have a way to fill it out and get it back to us just email us all the information that would go on the form and we'll fill one out for you.
Thanks for your interest! We're looking forward to seeing you play.
Email Corey at ctarv419@hotmail.com or Jeremy at esports@tarverautomotive.com if you have any questions.
Yeah we would love that kind of overwhelming participation! We are hoping to make this an annual event on our e-sports schedule and since there's not a huge Starcraft 2 scene in our area we're going to need to bring in a lot of players and fans to justify to the folks that hold the purse strings that this event is a worthwhile investment. So players please get your registrations in ASAP whether you're a seasoned pro or just learning SC2, we want you to come play. And fans join up on the Facebook group. We'll have some exciting things going on for the fans as the event gets closer.
For the next couple of weeks we will be looking at the tournament structure, both pro and amateur, and reviewing the overall layout of the event so stay tuned for announcements.
So we've got some digital billboards up around town promoting the tournament. There should be about 6-8 of them rotating around Lake Charles, LA. I'll give a Scion E-Sports jacket (the same jacket that our casters are going to be wearing on the live stream) to the first person that posts up a pic of one of them on the TL or the Facebook or reddit, or anywhere that people can see.
It's my pleasure to announce that we've signed up Matt "EonShiKeno" Gegg to cast at our event. He's been casting SC2 for years, including both Lone Star Clashes for TeSPA and some IEM qualifiers... He came referred to us by Axeltoss at MLG, but the really exciting part is he's also a Louisiana native, from right down the road in NOLA. We're excited to be able to bring in plenty of local talent to participate. Hopefully more big annoucments coming up. Stay tuned!
Just got done shooting our first announcement video for the youtube page. We reveal some pretty huge announcements in it. Go to http://www.youtube.com/lakecharlesscion and be the first to know! It should be up within the next day or two.
The full casting team has been finalized, we're proud to announce that rounding out our stellar team of Kevin "RotterdaM" Van Der Kooi, Ben "MrBitter" Nichol, and Matt "EonShiKeno" Gegg... is going to be one of the biggest names the North American e-sports scene has ever known... Our 4th caster for the evening will be:
Can anybody clue some n00bs (Corey and Jeremy) in on how the approval process works on Liquidpedia articles? There's 8 pending reviews on our page. Do we have to do something? or does a moderator just float by periodically and review pending changes and authorize them? No big deal, just wanna make sure we're not doing something wrong.
I probably should have put this on a "how-to" thread somewhwere but hopefully somebody whose been following this thread can just answer right quick and not get me modded off lol.
On October 18 2013 05:22 Mannekino wrote: Hopefully the broadcast time will be somewhat EU friendly
There's a pretty good chance if you're an "early to bed, early to rise" kind of person you could probably catch the finals around sunrise depending on your time zone. We're estimating that the tournament will last until sometime between 10:00PM and midnight Central US Time, which I think is GMT -8.
Hey we are looking for translators in the Sothwest Louisiana area, we need someone who can speaks fluent English and Korean, English and Mandarin Chinese, and English and Taiwanese. We may also need a translator for Spanish. We can pay a small salary for the service but we don't really have the budget for travel, so you really would need to be pretty local.
If you're interested PM me here or email Jeremy at esports@tarverautomotive.com
I just want to remind everyone that admission is completely free. As of now all you need to do is show up if you wanna watch so everyone bring all your friends! The only way things could change is if we get too many people and start having issues with the fire marshal. But if that happens we will probably just require people to get wristbands, which will be free, to limit admission. We will inform everyone on here and facebook if anything changes.
Our second Lake Charles Scion Esports conference just went up on our youtube page. If you are interested in announcements about the player pool, tournament structure, and upcoming tournament related events check it out!
I don't think that was Blizzcon, since Blizzcon isn't till November. Pretty sure that was the WCS Season 3 Championship in Canada. How did you get this job again?
But yeah, unlike Jeremy, Rotti and Bitter did do an awesome job.
Hey I need to get some ideas for content for our live group call with Bitter, Rotti, Idra, and Eon Monday night. What are some things ya'll would like to hear them talk about?
Hey everybody don't forget we have a live video conference with MrBitter, RotterdaM, IdrA, and EonShiKeno tonight at 9PM Central on twitch.tv/sciongorilla!
We'd love to have Sjow come play! We've talked to a few European players, but so far it just hasn't been feasible financially, as we are only able to provide somewhat modest travel support. We will do whatever we can to help international players come though, so please get in touch with us if you're interested!
I´d love to see him there as well, after he defeated Life at DH he had pretty much the worst bracket luck possible, always ending up against his worst MU. But realistically I doubt, that property will send players to other continents, as dignitas did when he still was there.
As we are still having a lot of people finding out about the tournament and expressing interest in playing we have decided to extend the registration deadline for both the Pro and Amateur Divisons to 15 November 2013. We will be announcing the qualifier schedule for the pro tournament, as well as the pro players who will receive invitations on that date. The qualifiers will take place soon after the registration deadline so that players who qualify will have time to book travel. Once November 15th rolls around everybody be ready!
Just got confirmation that Min 'Apocalypse' Kim is registered for the tournament! Always exciting to get registrations from Premiere League players. Check him out on Liquidpedia here:
We just uploaded a form (and linked to on the Facebook) called "Travel Info Form." Players and fans, it is our intention to make your visit to Lake Charles for this tournament a first class experience. In pursuit of this goal, we would like to know a little about your travel plans. Please fill out the form ASAP to help us understand how to serve you best. Anyone who has requested lodging at the "game house," and any Pro Division player who will be turning in receipts for travel assistance MUST fill out this form and get it turned in to us before the event. (Again, as soon as possible would be a big help.)
Thanks! e-mail the form to Jeremy at esports@tarverautomotive.com when you get it done.
Alright guys so here is the latest. Corey, Eric, and Andrew are all out on vacation for the whole week! I'm sure they think the tournament is going to fall to pieces with just me...well me and that worthless gorilla, in charge. Yall need to go invite EVERYONE you can think of to come to the tournament. Invite all your friends on fb and all of your IRL friends too (since a lot of times that's 2 different groups of people lol). Before they get back I wanna have 150 people coming to the event. So that's the mark. 150 by the end of the day Friday. Think we can do it? I think so. I believe in my fellow esports followers. Lets do this thing!!!
Hey guys sorry for no announcement video yesterday. I do however have an announcement. Now registered for the Lake Charles Scion Thanksgiving Open are two more of the biggest names in sc2 history. Huk and Destiny! Thanks for being on board guys. Can't wait to have yall compete.

I can understand a reasonable amout of self-hype, but Destiny as "one of the biggest names in sc2 history"? What? Don´t get me wrong, I like him as a streamer, but in terms of e-sports achievments, he is not a top-100 foreigner, probably not top-200 either. Still nice to see him there, though.
HuK on the other hand is a real favorite to take the tourney. I´m rooting for the taiwanese fraction a bit (Just because I think, that it is awesome, that YFW sends their representatives around the world to get exposure outside the TeSL), but he will be a really hard obstacle to overcome.
Just want to remind everybody that registration ends TOMORROW. If you're considering registering but haven't decided yet I would recommend filling out a form and sending it in with a little message saying you're still debating. Big thanks to everyone who has supported our event so far!
Nice to see, that you reached your 64-players goal. Also what is up with the taiwanese invasion, normally it is only Sen traveling outside of he country and now all of a sudden 11 taiwanese-but-not-Sen players signed up. Will be interesting to see, how they perform.
Hey guys we just released another video on our youtube page. Check it out if you want to know more about the qualifier and which players received invitations and are exempt from it!
Not exactly. Groups A-H all play their round one games tonight (Ro32). Tomorrow, new groups will be formed from the advancing players to play the 2nd qualifying round (Ro16).
A few specific details about how the first round of qualifiers are going to play out tonight.
All players need to join us in the battle.net chat channel "Lake Charles Scion" at 7:30 Central US Time to check in. (Anyone else who wants to come visit is welcome to join us also, just please don't clutter the channel too much, we have a lot of games to get played.) At that time, each group will be assigned a referee who will administer that group's qualifier. Each group's qualifier will be played out linearly, one match at a time, and all eight groups will be playing simultaneously. Each referee will create a party with the group members and the first game between Group Member #1 and Group Member #4 will begin at 8:00PM.
The rest of the group can observe the games if desired. (Each player in each group will play one game before anyone plays a second game, so everyone will have equal opportunity to observe their future opponents.) The games will proceed as detailed in the attached graphic.
Details for Round 2 qualifiers will be finalized after the advancing players have all been contacted and confirmed for participation and will be announced tomorrow morning. Any player who plays in Friday's qualifying round but no-shows for Saturday's Round 2 will be replaced by the #3 finisher in their Round 1 Group. Any player who has a scheduling conflict for either round should contact their opponent and Jeremy at esports@tarverautomotive.com. Decision to reschedule any qualifying match to accommodate a player's schedule will be at the discretion of the group's referee and the opponent.
Also, players should refer to the qualifier email that was sent out last night to confirm who their opponent is. The graphic that is being circulated has been changed several times due to error corrections. The correct matchups are the ones from the email. I'll go ahead and copy/paste them here:
Group A: Apocalypse, WarreN, Hunterxx, Jellyfish Group B: MaSsan, Siphonn, Clash, HellsChild Group C: Ruff, Maverick, SpOiL, BlazeMost Group D: Sasquatch, Hiei, HydraWang, esteca Group E: Has, EgJaeD, Petraeus, OceanStorm Group F: Hui, DreamKiller, Mudkip, FrayaMonsteR Group G: Slam, Oobios, SPeCiaLiST, ensignlee Group H: Sage, ErEvilSD, Willy, Smaug
Unfortunately we weren't able to coordinate the logistics of having the qualifier games casted and streamed. We'll definitely put up some replays of the good games on our YouTube channel, and all the games of the live event are DEFINITELY going to be streamed and casted. Thanks for keeping up!
Corey just made this announcement on the facebook page:
Players and fans of the Lake Charles Scion e-Sports Thanksgiving Open, we have some big announcements to make about the tournament. First of all, thanks for everyone's participation. We had a great turnout and a smooth qualifier event tonight.
After many hours of deliberation we have had to make some tough decisions.
Unfortunately, we have had some high level players withdraw. Among others, the most noteworthy is the Taiwanese team Yoe Flash Wolves, apparently as a result of a scheduling conflict. We are very disappointed to lose them as we were very much looking forward to seeing these players. This has vacated one invitation spot. We have decided to offer this invite to American Zerg player Sasquatch, representing team Root.
This has also also left some vacancies in our Ro16 qualifier. We attempted to find a way to extend another opportunity to some players who were unable to attend the Ro32 qualifier because of scheduling, or to the players who lost out in the Ro32. However, we were unable to arrive at a clear solution that would provide an opportunity to include more players without being unfair to the players who played and won their way into the 2nd Qualifying Round. This has led us to reduce the field of players in the 2nd round to twelve. These players will be separated into groups of three, which will be played out exactly as the groups in the Ro32, except with one Grandmaster in each group receiving a bye. Out of each group of three, two players will advance to the live event. These groups will be published tomorrow morning by 10:00AM.
All players who played in the Ro32 and lost will be automatically entered as alternates should any other player no-show or withdraw from the Round 2 qualifier. No player who no-showed or was disqualified from the Round 1 qualifier will be considered as an alternate in Round 2.
We are extremely excited about the participation and interest we have had so far in this event. Many thanks to everyone who has been involved, and best of luck to all the players participating in Round 2 of the qualifiers tomorrow.
People that lost in round of 32 should be invited to round of 16 to fill the 4 vacated spots. Make a group of 8, (3rd place finishers of each group) and have them play it out BEFORE round of 16 starts tomorrow, and the top 4 get in on the round of 16.
Just wanna remind everyone that registration for the amateur tournament is still open. If any of you aren't really hardcore enough for the pro tournament but want to have something to do while you are there the amatuer tournament would be perfect for you!
Those of you who volunteered to cast replays of the qualifying games, please click here to download the Caster Toolkit. It includes a bunch of graphics, videos, and music. The graphics are all .png and the videos are all .mp4s employing the H.264 codec that YouTube uses. Hopefully that works for ya'll.
We request that you use the intro and/or outro, plus one of the overlays during the cast, whichever one works better for your observer interface. Also, if you would like you can use the player card graphics for the players who you are casting. Mostly just have fun with it, theres plenty of stuff to play with. email Jeremy if you have any problems. Thanks!
We just sent in a request to get our tournament on the calendar. Don't forget the tournament is a week from Saturday. Everyone be sure to get registered so you can get some free food, and don't forget to bring all your friends!
IMPORTANT: Don't forget, the group rate on the hotel rooms expires TODAY. Please, please, please, get your room booked if you haven't already. It would be a shame to have to pay more because you procrastinated.
Again, the group hotel is: Sleep Inn & Suites 3211 Venture Park Drive, I-210 & LA 14 Lake Charles, LA 70615
So who ended up qualifying for the event? Who are the 16 players in the "pro" tournament? Who are the replacements if one of the 16 cannot make it? When will brackets be released?
I'd like to write a tournament preview for the event, but I need more information to do so!
@2xNoodle: Sorry for the delay in getting that information out, we will be correcting that by releasing loads of important info today. Stay tuned and thanks for your support!
@GameHeart: This is actually the first we have heard of it, i looked at your thread, get in contact with us by email asap with more info. Are players ok with playing on these maps? Can we get our own logos in? Any other tournaments using it we can take a look at?
@pXtRoy: Word. (Thanks for the excitement, please keep it up!)

Are players ok with playing on these maps? Yes. The players cannot see the logos, the icons over buildings, or the strong team colors (if you set it to observers only) so it doesn't really affect them except to give their team more visibility. It's just like playing a normal game to the players.
Can we get our own logos in? Yes. Email them as a png or psd with a transparent background to TeamGameHeart@gmail.com
Any other tournaments using it we can take a look at? Red Bull Battle Grounds, Shoutcraft America, ASUS ROG, Break Out Invitational and many smaller tournaments as well using the new version I sent you a link to.
Using the old version of GameHeart are Dreamhack and Fragbite Masters but I am removing the old version once Fragbite Masters is over because I want all tournaments to use the new version moving forward.
Thanks GameHeart, we have a staff meeting tonight we will definitely consider it.
Everybody remember if you are planning on attending our event to watch please register with us if you want to get in on the free pizza. Email us or fill out the form and scan, fax, etc. If you are coming as a player your free-pizza ticket is already punched, as long as you are registered.
Everybody stay tuned here and to the Facebook as we will be making lots of important announcements today.
Here is a bunch of information about the amateur tournament These are copy-pasted from our facebook, if you have any questions that is the best place to get them answered.
The entire Amateur Tournament will be played on-site at the live event. The registrants who register for the Amateur Division will be separated into three subdivisions based on preference at check-in, to the extent that spots are available. The player’s battle.net Season 5 league and rank will be used to determine eligibility for each subdivision and seed within that subdivision. The three subdivisions will be as follows:
Open: Open Subdivision will be intended for the highest level amateur players and will have the highest prize pool. There are no restrictions on who can play in Open.
A: A Subdivision is intended for average players, players who are skilled at StarCraft but play only casually. There will be a small cash prize for winning A Subdivision. Current Master League Players are not allowed to play in A Subdivision and must register for Open.
B: B Subdivision is for new or unskilled players. Only Bronze League players will be allowed to register for B Subdivision. There will be no cash prize for B Subdivision. Only some sweet Scion gear. This league of play is intended for learners or casual gamers who aren’t familiar with StarCraft 2 but who want to be in on the tournament action.
Players of any skill level will be allowed to “play up” into a higher subdivision than their battle.net league qualifies them for if they so desire. The league restrictions are in place to prevent players from “playing down” into groups of players much less skilled than themselves, thereby inhibiting those players’ ability to enjoy the event.
All matches in the Amateur Tournament will be single games played under the same rules as laid out in the above section. The championship match of each of these “Subdivision Brackets” will be streamed live on the twitch.tv event and cast by the professional casting team.
Each subdivision will be played out in double elimination format. There will be no third place, fifth place, etc. game in the amateur division and third/fourth will be treated as having the same finish quality.
Here are the more precise schedules for the players in the amateur tournament:
TL:DR "A" Subdivision Players - Show up at 1:00 "Open" Subdivision Players - Show up at 2:00 "B" Subdivision Players - Show up at 3:00
COMPLETE INFO:
The amateur tournaments will be starting in a slightly staggered fashion to make the scheduling work as efficiently as possible. Players are requested to arrive and get signed in 1 hour before their respective subdivision begins play. All scheduling in the amateur tournament will be flexible throughout the day, depending on the speed with which the entire event is progressing, but there will be no case where the timetable for beginning play will be moved earlier. Here is what players from each subdivision need to be using in order to make their plans:
"OPEN" SUBDIVISION Anyone can play - intended for the highest level of amateur players. Play is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM Central time, we will begin signing in players for the open tournament at 2:00.
"A" SUBDIVISION Anyone can play with the exception of current master leaguers. Play is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM Central time, we will begin signing in players at 1:00 PM or shortly thereafter depending on the start time of the pro tournament
"B" SUBDIVISION Only bronze league players and beginners/learners will be permitted. Play is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM Central time, we will begin signing in players at 3:00 PM
We will be making regular announcements at the live event on the status and any changes regarding the amateur tournament. All players need to check the player list and verify that you are listed in the division that you intend to play in. Remember anybody can play up, you just need to let us know if you intend to and we will get you moved. All amateur players are encouraged to arrive early and watch the pro tournament going on, it is going to be quite an impressive event!
Everyone who is coming please spread the word to all your friends and fans as we make one last publicity push leading up to our event! The SC2 fanbase and the teamliquid.net scene in particular is a fantastic e-sports community and word of mouth is the best publicty we can get. Thank you all for the interest so far please keep it going strong through saturday!
This is a really good idea to include Open, A and B divisions. It really encourages people to come and participate instead of just watch. Kudos to you guys and I wish I could go.
@Zax19 : Thanks for the excitement! It will probably be a little different than everybody is used to because our venue is of course, a car dealership, but we're doing some pretty drastic work to make it a legitimate StarCraft arena. Our team has plenty of production experience and we are confident that we can put on a pretty good show, so hopefully everything goes good and you all enjoy it!
Again, thanks for the interest and please continue to help us spread the word in the final hours!
@Trumpet : Where are you coming from? It would be awesome if you could make it and bring about 3 van loads of friends with you! The live event is going to be impressive, we definately know how to throw a sweet party! Plus free food, free stuff, and awesome players and casters autographs!

We are not going to be allowing alcohol or other controlled substances on the premises. What happens at after-parties however, is anyones guess!

I sent you a PM, check it out when you get a chance.
Word. I'll leave the high life at home Thanks for the quick reply!
I always keep stream chats closed, but a lot of people are complaining about it being much, much worse than a normal tournament chat. Dicks everywhere.

Yea... I can't pretend to know the intricacies of setting up streams, but this is just off T.T. Save NA starcraft Mr. Bitter!
Hey guys, thanks so much for coming out to the Lake Charles Scion E-Sports Thanksgiving Open. We had a great event; strong competition by the players, great casting by the team, and awesome participation by the fans at our live event. For our first ever StarCraft 2 event, we were really pleased with how everything went. We did have some big technical issues that we were battling with, and we had a lot of downtime between rounds. We know there was so much more we could have done, and done better. In fact we had plans to do more but we just weren't able to stay on top of everything and we had to focus on the main thing, which was keeping the games flowing smoothly. We can't wait to start planning for next year and put all the lessons we learned into practice! Thanks again to all who participated.
