He could have flooded lings at all of Sora's bases as well. Forcing such a HUGE commitment to Phoenixes then just continue making Mutas is really weird,

Terrible creep spread by SK meant he had no spores anywhere, despite having resources for it. This meant that phoenix could bully his air units everywhere on the map with the exception of over his bases.
