Most of the time they do that when they see just one edge of the tank line. It's basically gambling on there not being any more tanks. I bet in practice, they have a lot of success with that too, just because there aren't that many Terrans as good as Polt or Taeja, so their pracitce partners just have less tanks in those situation. Just my guess, might be simple brain farts too

TvT epitomizes the best of the RTS genre.
Yeah, TvT is so back and forth and it almost always feels like the player who had the majority of better decisions and engagements in the game wins.
There are too many build order wins in the other matchups and deathball endgame mechanics. TvT is all about incremental advantage, positioning, smart engagements, and splitting your army well. It is like all the best things in SC put together now that Hellbats are no longer OP.
