'too' is the important word there, calling that game was absolutely the right decision, as it absolutely should have been over. taeja is a good enough player, was in a good enough situation, and had enough information that he 100% should have won. he made a mistake in judgement and lost to a hail mary, it happens. it's much better to call a game you believe is over than to try to generate false enthusiasm or hype around a dead game. the titan vs goswser game was another that we said was 100% over well before it was done, it would have been silly to sit there trying to pretend it was salvageable on the offchance that goswser let him max and then threw away a couple armies, even though that technically could happen and was only slightly less likely than taeja not choosing to play safely vs a clear last ditch allin. its much better to acknowledge that the game is over and one of the players is going through his death animation while discussing what led to that situation and how it's going to lead into the next game.

Gotta agree with this. I wouldn't even say calling the game over is right or wrong, I think it's up to the style of the caster. We already have our share of casters who go the way of not calling it, so I appreciate a different approach.

Have been enjoying the cast. Though this wouldnt be the internet if i didnt voice some criticism, which would be to try engage and interact with khal a bit more in between games. All said and done, keep it up in game your fine.

Maybe I'm too much of a scrub to enjoy the analytical mind he brings. I guess it's a matter of taste (maybe even culture). I for one absolutely despise the fake excitement and constant nerd screaming of certain well known casters who don't seem to add anything to the game. SC2 casting just like any other game casting should (imo) be a combination of relaxed and casual talk by gaming professionals and analytical insight to what's happening and might happen soon. I think IdrA and Khaldor did an absolutely fantastic job. If they had ToD and Chobra there too plus Barbie doing interviews my life would be complete.

Hey, come on, give Semmler some love, these are the best interviews I've seen at an offline tournament in a long time. I didn't mean to forget him. I thoroughly enjoyed his interviews and had a lot of fun and many laughs watching him, although if you want some criticism at times he didn't feel completely comfortable. I'm sure he'll be (even) better today when he's more used to the setting. ...and I agree that the laid back style of trying to really engage the gamer in casual talk about the game and what went through their minds at certain parts in the series has been really really good and refreshing. It's a shame that it won't be really possible with all the players because of the language and culture barrier.

Fake screaming and nerd culture are so cringe worthy it hurts. Dunno why people can't enjoy watching video games played professionally without injecting some hardcore social awkwardness.

You don't need a play-by-play caster to see what's going on. And you don't need a analyst to drawn conclusions about the game.
