Technically, we had. MMA did. GSL October + Blizzcup 2011 (which is considered "a GSL", and finished a few days before the GSL November Finals with Jjakji and Leenock)
I admit though that the Blizzcup isn't a real GSL with its different format.

So Boxer will more 'skilled' then Yellow when he won with 3x bunker rush? Comon, you can complain about cheese in Bo1 and maybe even Bo3s. But in Bo7, you just got out mind game opponent. Also, basketball will be destroyed because the Miami Heat don't win every game. And Golf will be destroyed because Tiger hasn't won a major in a couple years.

I was cheering for him and I was massively disappointed with his lack of preparation. Game 1: He didn't know the banshee timing and his turrets were late. He kept making hellions and didn't use them to scout the attack. Game 2: Raven first is a big waste of gas and starport time. He didn't know it was a banshee, he just tried lazily blind countering. When he saw the medivac, he didn't try to scout again, and just built his CC. He cancelled his tank though at that point it might have been too late. Game 3: He only scouted the lowground outside natural, and not the in base natural for anything. He also chose to blindly go CC first on a map where it is not possible to wall off the ramp due to a one hex rock. And this after 2 all ins. Pure hard headedness. Game 4: He just got flat out outplayed though he was obviously tilted at this point. Innovation played better in none of the games and deserved to lose. I wanted a Bomber vs Innovation finals and I dislike Maru but on this day Innovation was not the better player.

Innovation has won lots of games over the last few months by simple strong play. Better micro, better aggression and better multitasking is all he needs to tear most players apart, and that's what he's been doing. Now that he's lost, suddenly normal play isn't rewarding enough? No, I know people want SC2 to be more mechanically rewarding, but he really brought this loss upon himself by making numerous mistakes across four games.

You can't make the game adapt so that the same player is at the top constantly. Either you have consistent monsters (aka Bonjwas, if we have the right to use that word...). Either you don't, top players sometimes slump, and you can't do anything about that. Blaming the game feels ridiculous at this point... And, *cough* excuse me but *cough* Mvp. Had he not wrists problem, he'd still be at the very top (considering with these problems, he's managed to take WCS EU, which is less about preparation than the WCS KR, and Mvp is a monster when it comes to decisions and preparation). More recently, INnoVatioN looks really dominating. It's not a single lost series that will bring him to Code B level........

You have a point, although I don't feel this changes much about the message in my first post. The game is evolving fast and top players usually don't perform continuously. This is just something that I wanted to point out to people who have been predicting a 100% chance of win for some players.

I'm pretty sure Gom considers it a GSL I think they do now, when they first came out with the GSL champion's pins they didn't consider it one and I would poke fun at Fionn for Polt having no badge.
