If you mean SPL maybe, having two team leagues does detract from the hype of finding the best team in korea but I doubt that SPL will get much more attention next week. People seem fine to just watch WCS and the odd weekend tournament. Both team leagues went on for so long imo that it was pretty hard to keep story lines interesting, SPL had a lot of teams out of contention for play offs super early and GSTL had a lot of weeks they just didn't broadcast anything.

How cool would it be if they had the eSF teams play or merge with KeSPA teams for the SPL? It'd at least shelf the argument over who the best Koreans are (to a certain extent).

It would be amazing but it seems very unlikely anytime soon :/

Maybe if Blizz forced them to like WCS or if they would get crazy big viewing numbers. It would be cool to watch but I can't see the more casual viewer caring much about say a MVP vs WJS match..

If you hype it up and push it as the Super Bowl of Starcraft 2, sure a casual viewer will turn in. Give it a week or two of hype, and I'm sure it would not be hard to sell the average American or European SC2 casual viewer to be interested in a final between eSF and KeSPA.
The GSTL scheduling this tournament is terrible.

Eh, I considered going slightly more stereotypical but decided to stick to more inside jokes.
Though... now that you mention it...
They say Scarlett is six feet tall and breaths fire. If she was here, she'd destroy LGIM with Banelings from her eyes, and mutas from her well toned arse! And she will be here, in a mere three hours! So, you could go to bed and you'd sleep, at least for a little while. And when you wake tomorrow, and you browse TL and r/starcraft and hear the tale of how she obliterated all of LGIM, and then presented them with a stuffed beaver holding a Canadian flag, would you trade all three of the hours of sleep you'll miss, from this time to that, for one chance, JUST ONE CHANCE, to tell LGIM that you may all kill Azubu, but you'll never defeat OUR MOOSE LOVING BEAVER BATTLING IGLOO HABITATING ICE QUEEN!!!!!
I mean, I don't know what to say really. Three hours till be biggest fan favorite battle of a year or two. All comes down to tonight. Either Axiom-Acer goes super-sayan-boss-mode, or they are going to crumble. Centimeter by centimeter, map by map. We're gonna be up late gentlemen, and beleive me, we can call it a night, and sleep or we can watch AA climb their uphill journey back into the light. You know when you get old as an e-sports fan things get taken from you. That's, that's part of life. But, you only learn that when you start losing stuff. You find out that life is just a game of inches. Except it isn't, and neither is starcraft. Because it's e-sports. It's an international phenomenon, and that means it's a game of centimeters. In either game, the margin for error is so small. I mean, one second too slow or two fast and widow mines have blown up all the workers in your main. The centimeters we need are everywhere around us. They are in every drop and all in and maxed out deathball battle, every minute, every second of every game.
On this team, they fight for that centimeter. On this team, they will tear ourselves, and everyone around them to pieces for that centimeter. They CLAW with our finger nails for that centimeter. 'Cause we know when we add up all those centimeters that's going to make the fucking difference between WINNING and LOSING between LIVING and DYING.
Fans of e-sports, of LGIM, of AA, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the passion for e-sports fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of spilt maple syrup and busted bunkers when the age of E-Sports comes crashing down, but it is not this day! This day we watch starcraft! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand, fans of Starcraft!
+ Show Spoiler +alright, well I got a bit away from the canadian theme there, and the spilt maple syrup felt kind of forced. But whatever, it had to be done.
