Yeah, so Twitch did sponsor HSC and the way their relationship develops afterwards is something that both current and potential sponsors will look at. This is still relevant.

It's really easy why people like Take have to take that risk: they cannot afford the SLA. Take can go to twitch or whoever and say something like:
"I need a streaming platform that cat support up to 150 000 concurrent viewers worldwide with 99% uptime".

And the platform provider will say:
- hm, we don't any premium platform for you. We would need to develop some kind of premium resource allocation mechanism to keep up with your SLA and carry it over to our ISPs to ensure worldwide accessibility. Let's start with 500 000$ and go from there.

Even if the service was already in place it would not be cheap anyways so gg.

Well,obviously, the money generated by something like the HSC is nowhere near beeing lucrative enough for Twitch so sign such a contract. But the possibility for something like this to exist in the future is still there. Again, I don't think Take can or should sue Twitch for the downtimes today. But, if esports continues to grow and the money generated by such a stream is big enough, contracts like this will exist, and twitch will pretty surely sign them.

Yeah, in the unforseable future, where live streaming technology is stable, esports is huge, tournament organizers have enough money to pay for these kinds of SLAs such contracts will exist.

But HSC is played today and the 'TAKKKKKEEE!! GRAB YOUR PITCHFORK! SUE TWITCH' approach is just stupid.

Well I didn't see any pitchforks, and no actual cirklejerk or anything. The only thing I actually wanted to bring across, is that Twitch is not the salvation army, and there is still money involved in providing Twitch with the ability to stream for you. Yes, it's not today, and yes its maybe not in the next decade, or even 2 or 3. But the time, where some random LoL Player generates almost or as much viewers as a premier Tournement will be gone, and when that time comes, Twitch will be forced to in some kinda way give these organisers a benefit for streaming on their plattform.

Sure, we can do some theorycrafting. You have to pay millons $ to stream, ugh, air Superbowl or something. Maybe in 50 years ESWC / WCS or any random RTS cup will be just as strong and albe to sell their content to a chosen streaming platform etc... but this is so far off what we have today.

It is scrappy, I don't think TLO is playing as well as he can. He keeps trying to force odd engagements, and to be honest he is getting lucky as hell. Bunny is playing relatively well, all things considered.

Yeh I think he is dropping far too often, drops are awesome but I just don't think he's using them very smartly.
