Not really. http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2012_Global_StarCraft_II_Team_League_Season_1/PlayoffsMKP at the time was Prime's Ace, and if Parting had the game (which he should have), that would have been 3-1 in Startale's favor, in addition to Prime's ace being eliminated. Furthermore, sure, Prime had a pretty solid lineup at the time, but MKP, the guy that SHOULD have been eliminated by Parting, went on to take out Bomber, Squirtle, and Curious, and I'm pretty sure that Parting, Bomber, Squirtle, and Curious would have been enough to take out the remaining two players that Prime decided to sent out (probably Byun and Creator, don't remember who else was on Prime at the time, but probably no one better than those two). would have, should have, no. hell, byun 3-killed them just their previous meeting - parting and squirtle included, and creator took out curious and bomber. you can't say oh mkp down, prime is dead. this talk is ridiculous, what's done is done
People also forget how shortly thereafter Prime crushed the KSL including 2 all-kills over StarTale.

I blame them too, but gerrard said something afterwards like " if they can prove that Parting would have won the game I will resign as coach " and there was never an investigation. If Gerrard had been forced to resign, Prime would probably be better today. But Gerrard is their best Prinezzang model! :o nah creator is! i miss his fashion shows Creator is adorbs but Gerrard is so manly I don't think there is a slang word I hate more then adorbs. The problem is, that you have to adjust your build to the actual timing way before it hits you. (to get a tank out f.e.) Well, Im not stupid enough to claim I know better than the pros, but it just seems to me roach/bane works way too often nowadays. Obviously I dont have any stats on it, but thats how I feel. And while I cant comment exactly how changing up build does affect high level TvZ, there just seems to be so many small things that can be done. Some basic things off the top of my head: - Get ~2 tanks out early as a standard part of your build - Make a habit of placing 2-3 naked rax as a part of your wall rather than 1 extra reactor rax in your main. You lose a bit of minerals, but later when you feel safe you can just lift up the rax and put them in the main and put addons on them. People did this on Cloud Kingdom all the time for example. - Make a habit of going double rather than single bunker. Surely that 100 mineral loss (25 after salvage) wont screw up that much. Theres probably more. Surely one or more of these things, or other small adjustments which I didnt mention, wont fuck up your build too much in case an attack doesnt come? The problem is, that the terran openings are very tight in rescources. if you want to play a pressure build, you simply have to delay your pressure by a lot for this extra safety. If you want to play greedy without any pressure, you're in a bad position anyway, since zerg probably will outgreed you easily. The fact, that no terran really seems to be safe on a regular basis from those baneling timings (even Innovation) should be hint enough, that it's very hard to react to them correctly. I know thats the reasoning behind it. And its most surely the reasoning behind zergs going roach/bane so often nowadays. And as far as I can say, zergs are coming out ahead in that exchange. Maybe Im wrong, maybe its worth being vulnerable to early roach/bane to gain an advantage midgame when your MMM+mines are out in full force. But to me it seems the current meta favors zergs and terrans could use to play more defensively, at least for a while until the roach/bane meta falls out of fashion a bit.

At that level, any top player can 3-kill another group of top players. I don't deny the possibility that Byun and Creator COULD have still brought the win to Prime if Parting had beaten MKP, all I'm saying is that Startale's lineup was just as solid as Prime's at the time (contrary to what Zealously said), and when you have equally solid lineups but only 2 players to field from one and 4 players to field from the other, the lineup with 4 players left has the advantage. Startale would have been in an excellent position if the lag-out didn't occur, and instead they got shit on by the referees and I imagine the frustration also affected the play of the remaining ST players.
