It wasn't. He played badly and used Infested Terrans against a toss with upgrades.

He won the game because he took a hidden 3rd and did a burrowed baneling move. Those are nice tricks, but they only work when the opponent doesn't expect them. He can't do it twice in a row.

Deleting your opponent's first army practically for free before it can do any damage is not the sort of thing that's meant by a "straight up" game. It was an awesome move, but it's not something you can rely on.

I mean yeah he managed to bop his opponent with the banes but it took him WAY too long to close out the game and he came close to letting squirtle back in. He couldnt finish the game because of ff´s. He had to wait for a solid amount of infestors to close the deal and thats what he did, instead of just over-comiting and throw his lead away. He played really well imo.

To be fair it's different to learn something from previous games - that Squirtle had no obs - and preparing for that eventuality and just flipping a coin and hoping.

In weird ways, too - burrowed ling off position to block a Nexus, spawning Infested Terrans and then running away with them twice. Maybe nerves getting to him? Those are pretty low-level mistakes. The off burrowed ling could be intentional. If you fully block he sends obs and kills. If you don't block he doesn't know it's there and you can try to hit the 3rd right as it finishes. Not sure if it was a mistake but just saying that could have been on purpose
