Mvp's off-racing is boss. For example, his Zerg owned MarineKing, if I recall correctly. I am not too sure about Mvp's Protoss, but it is definitely KR GM level. Mvp could be a pro-gamer with any race, even random (considering he was KR GM with Random too...)
Don't be fooled... Mvp's macro is top-notch, you aren't going to see many people with better macro than him. Out of all the Terran players, I can only count a couple of players who can equal Mvp in macro... that would be TaeJa (during his peak, his macro was ridiculous... now TaeJa has wrist issues), Bomber (sometimes), Flash (arguably superior to Mvp), and INnoVation. I am not too sure about the other KeSPA Terrans, but that is what I believe. Mvp was pretty much the first true macro Terran.
As for micro, his splits used to be on par with MarineKing's. His drop play was on par with MMA's (just look up some of Mvp's 2011 TvZ lategame and you'll see that it's true). Then he had his wrist problems. Also, I think a big reason why people think Mvp's micro isn't great is because they see Mvp playing online (Iron Squid or even WCS EU Round of 32), and they don't realize how much lag affects his micro. Right now, it seems his wrists are better but not at 100%, yet look at Mvp vs. Stephano G4 (WCS EU Finals). His micro and splits were even better than the splits I've seen from MarineKing. Mvp's micro is fine, but there are other players who really shine in micro. (INnoVation's Hellion micro was godly.)
In terms of game sense, Mvp has BW Flash-like game sense. His nickname is the Game Genie Terran because he always scans right outside of his base and sees 20 Banelings morphing.
However, I think none of these characteristics truly represents Mvp's capabilities. Even though he is a complete player (micro, macro, game sense), his true strength lies in his championship mindset. Not only does this guy know how to prepare for long series, I think you will never ever ever ever ever see Mvp get tilted. Ever. His mental fortitude allowed him to win situations such as the Squirtle GSL Finals, and it's also what allows him to keep coming back again and again even after metagame changes (which can drastically hurt players like DongRaeGu, who simply was better with Ling/Bane/Muta than Brood Lord/Infestor) and health issues and the trend towards higher skill (who can argue that Hyperdub back in 2011 could even come close to Maru in 2013? I chose low-tier players on purpose).
Mvp essentially plays his own game. He doesn't care whether or not Protoss is imba (3-1 PartinG), whether or not an amazing new style is discovered (3-4 Life), whether or not elephants arrive (3-2 Rain), whether or not someone is hyped as the best RTS player of all time (2-3 INnoVation). I think that's the truly scary part of Mvp... he's never down, even when he should be.
(I mean, come on, this guy reached his peak already. He has a serious spine condition which renders him unable to practice or even feel his own clicks! The KeSPA switch resulted in an influx of extremely mechanically talented and hard-working fresh blood to the SC2 scene. Mvp's dominance occurred in 2011, when people didn't really know what a 3rd base was... Clearly, this guy should be irrelevant like FruitDealer. He's not.)

Can't wait to see how much PvP would occur in LG-IM vs SKT.

im a mvp fan but his macro is certainly not better than flash and innovation .. mkp's micro has always been a little better than mvps and innovation has no doubt better micro than mvp's .. but i agree that his game sense is top notch ... he is just so scary in series games .. he just doesnt crack under pressure he even perseveres more when he loses .. champions mentality is that what its called? idk but his good .. he's always been like playing his own game all the times .. but right now i dont think mvp is the best .. but he will certainly be part of the best .. as everyone says you cant count him out in any championship games .. mostly always been in the semi's,quarter or grand finals even not winning .. i mean no ones as consistent as that in sc2

LOL. I traded Maru for Losira and then I decided not to trade Nestea off my fantasy team this week because I thought, well he'll never play in GSTL anyways so 1 point at worst. Terminated myself quite nicely.

NSH getting AK'd by Nestea? I didn't think they could get more embarassed. On the other hand, delicious FGSTL points

Hell I'm pretty sure Happy who's now retired got an all kill in either the KSL or iptl at some point. The funny thing is that I cannot, for the life of me, remember an Mvp all-kill. That's okay, Mvp all-kills GSLs.
He all-killed zergs during the race wars at the start of 2011:
