Gratz to Innovation for managing to win these finals. Also gratz to MVP for being the only player giving the best fight against him. I am sure if it was a best of 7, MVP would take the win. I feel sorry for SoS not taking a game in the finals, but he showed excellent sportmanship and good manners and he is really the innovative one as far as strategies are involved. I would really preferred an MVP vs Soulkey finals, but I am glad that Innovation fixed his gsl finals mistake and came on top, and SoS playing in the finals which was finally a PvT.

A couple of questions-- why were the LoL commentators on the main stream, and Day9 and Apollo relegated to second stream. Was it just me or did Day9 kind of get pissed off at the weird arrangements + due to exhaustion.

Just the fact that many people are complaining about the fun of watching these games should say a lot to the devs. But i guess they are oblivious to these things.

Because they are OGN's primary english commentators and it is an OGN run event.

If GOM ran it they would have had Tastetosis cast the final, even if Day9 and Apollo and Wolf/Khaldor were there. Equivalent situation.

But how many people watched it live?!

We only know TV and and maybe live viewers but we don't know moon people, Martians and other alien viewer numbers, so we can only approximate that the moon landing was at least 7billion times better

So if alien life were all this sophisticated and advanced, all 200 gazillion of them would be, oh how cute those little insects, they have managed to leave their rock. How delightful.

So on topic, yeahm 200 gazillion is a heck of a record, so Moon landing = greatest sports!

They're not only LoL commentators - they're OGN's primary commentators for SC2 as well. Doa was supposed to cast SC2 for OGN before the KeSPA/IEG/OGN situation had him shafted (and besides, he was an SC2 caster for IPL before that).

Sadly no. League of Legends is too big now. RTS will never be as popular as MOBA again, since MOBAs are so much more accessible.

Being able to assign blame/praise as it suits you makes it much more appealing, and even though I think RTSs (or at least SC2) make for much better viewing, even if you don't play, very few people realise this.

League is the only thing that _could_ reach BW's heights

I'm pretty sure League did beat BW in terms of popularity.

doesn't matter at all. i've watched championship games in League of Legends, and the crowds don't get even close to as loud as the Brood War crowds did. Why? The moments aren't as intense, which stems from the quality and depth that are intrinsic to the game being played. Those moments are what makes the crowd feel awe inspired.

crowds can be bigger, but never as loud as they were in BW.

It IS more popular. Just not in korea. Esport growth happens in the "west" and if the koreacentric view of small community parts would go away, it would even allow blizzard to develop western esport even more.

Koreans are always going to win everything, they're only getting more dominant. The Korea centric side of Sc2 is never, ever going to go away. If you don't like that you'd be best to find another hobby because this is not going to change at any time in the games lifespan as an E-Sport.

I wasn't aware that size and popularity was measured by the 'loudness' of the live audience.

In that case Galatasary vs Fenerbache must be the biggest game in football.

I just hope for next season they have an alternate streaming service outside of twitch for the main stream of the big finals. Watching on Gom was ok, but I feel like I missed a lot of the extra content just because twitch is completely unwatchable over 360p at this point on my 50/20 home connection.

That's funny because my argument made no comparison between size and popularity to loudness. In fact I was making a counter argument to a post about how a bigger game and crowd doesn't make a game more entertaining for a crowd. Comparing an e-sport to soccer. That's funny.

If your VODs have no sound just refresh a few times or remove the timestamp and go through the VODs manually. It's a TwitchTV bug.

It is as the Power Rank predicted, Soulkey did win the Code S thingy, but Bogus is the Powerhouse, not struggling through every round, but dominating opponents.
Still a bit sad for Jürgen though, best foreigner performance ever. He deserved to win!
I figured out the EG Curse. It was set in motion by Voodoo Shamans working for Millenium. Whenever EG aquires a player, Voodoo energies start slowly draining skill from the EG guy into an Millenium newcomer. Think about it!

The score seems to suggest Bogus didn't dominate Mvp though. I'm going to watch the vods now, but it feels like Mvp gave him a run for his money.
