I am not for banning chat, rather for warning people who are too excessive with the insults. Latest case I can recollect would be Naniwa who BMed Tefel. There should be rules preventing it, like you get warning for the first time, but next time you get a def-lose in your next game (not match, a single game) in this season. That would stop people going overboard with it.

This "rant" from mr. Firecake is one of the saddest things I have ever seen. One of the saddest things you have ever seen ![](/mirror/smilies/frusty.gif) That was hardly a rant.. and Naniwa has berated his opponents several times after games in WCS, don't think he hasn't received a penalty for it. Yes, it certainly was one of the saddest things I've witnessed. He just lost 2-0 and takes a minute to tell Mana, the casters, and the viewers how unfair it is because he usually beats the Polish player on the ladder?!?!? And yes, it wasn't a rant-rant, that's why I wrote it in quotation marks. It was still embarressing to watch, and will only be used against him in the future (also why chat-sensur could be a good thing, the players are obviously upset after a loss and people react differently). They should still get warnings and potential bans (if it happens over and over again, for example) for their BM, but it can easily be done without creating a shit storm. But if it would be hidden you wouldn't know this now about Mr. Firecake. Isn't it better that you've seen this?

Well, it would have been good if I were to be a hateful little shit, but all I'm really interested in is the game. As I said, people that BMs (real BM) over and over again should get their warnings and bans, but I don't really see why it's good that the BM takes the focus away from the game itself (as it normally does with this community when someone get's a little bit tilted)...
Anyway, it's just my opinion, I don't expect anyone to agree, but given that this is a forum I thought I could put it out there.

I didn't really want to criticize you, just show a bit of my own opinion. I have to say I didn't actually think it was terribly BM what he typed. We can't know what his tone was as it was just text, not actual talking in person. The tone I was imagining was him being a bit sad and lamenting his fate in life or something, not attacking Mana.

Absolutely not, but Firecake isn't really my point. That was just sad, and will stick with him in the future (which I think is kind of unfair, even though I've heard he's a lot worse on ladder). I was just talking more in general without outing names of people that definitely should get some kind of warning/punishment for their actions.

If you seriously find that as one of the saddest things you have ever witnessed, you haven't experienced much. I wouldn't recommend telling that in a job interview.
