Demuslim/Moose took the easy way out by trying to forfeit and forcing this situation to happen. Moose should have played miya and demu play the winner of that so people don't advance due to a technicality. I would feel a lot better earning it the right way if I was in their situation, rather than through a technicality.

Sasquatch also got a def loss because they told him the wrong time. Should they have restarted that bracket, too?

Would be not consistent at all with the previous qualifiers, mind you, where Hyun knocked out several people after being disqualified and they essentially told those players "deal with it".

It was poorly run by MLG. I'm just saying if I was a competitor I would sleep better at night knowing I earned my spot the right way and not through a technicality. It's not about what's right or wrong in this case rule wise, but sportsmanship and integrity of earning things the right way. This was a case of both players trying to dodge miya on a technicality so they would have a better chance of getting into code a.

Demuslim did earn things the right way, he showed up on time and played the people he was supposed to play and beat them.

If the situation was flipped and it was Demuslim the one who showed up late, the admins wouldn't even considering stopping a series that was already being played to get him back in the bracket.

Agreed. With the right practice and some time, Drunkenboi might go far.

man, threatening to forfeit as your FIRST reaction is probably not a good way to ingratiate yourself to a tournament

Funny how when it's an EG player you've got MLG's back hardcore but the second a TL player is inconvenienced you try to rally the community into witchhunting MLG.

Shoulda just DQ'd everyone in that bracket and give the seed to comm.

Should of just DQ'd MLG and let NASL run the show.

Of what?

Sorry, but I really (underscored and everyhing) dislike the "should of" thingie that's going on, it's so stupid.

Supposed to be should have, sorry, it's pretty late.

exactly my thoughts. i also support rich's tweet about the situation.

Are you serious? Shafting two people that had nothing to do with it to fix a situation you CAUSED by having incompetent admins is acceptable?

There is no right decision here, just less shitty ones. They should focus on hurting the least amount of people.

There is a right decision, and they finally made it (thankfully).

MLG and Miya screwed up and it caused Miya to get a match loss. End of story. There is no need to involve other players in the conversation at all. As soon as the first game following the screw-up was played there is no "fixing it." It's done. MLG needed to "own their own mistake" and just apologize/compensate/etc as best they can. There is no rolling back the bracket to fix an hours-old screwup (e.g. Hyun eliminating people after being DQ'd).

It's scary to think that had Demu/Moose not threatened to forfeit that MLG would have made a really stupid call.

I though my English is not that bad, but I had to look up what "ingratiate" means.

Pretty messedup situation anyways. I can understand Demuslims anger; still ads a sour taste to the qualification.

Xenocider is actually really damn good, out of the relative unknowns of the NA scene he seems to have the chops to push on from there. Nice to see him doing well, sick stream as well.

@Waxangel, I hope these scurrilous rumours about you not liking HerO as a player are malicious lies!

R1CH is also complaining that Gennia and TB aren't fighting for their players on twitter. The TL staff seems to love witch hints lately and making sure all dirty laundry is aired in public.

You aren't really hurting Moose and Demu in nearly the same way as Miya though. Moose and Demu both got pretty lucky(admittedly I still think Demu would've crushed Miya) and taking the luck away just isn't the same as screwing over a player and not giving him a fair shot. I agree that there is just shitty decisions, but you shouldn't go by just 1 person vs 2.

I would have been angry with demuslim if sasquath had played after dq because he was late too. Now, its fair between known and less known players.
