Too expensive, you're basically just hoping against hope that he won't attack while your transition is occuring. Otherwise, he'll have more phoenix, crush your air army, and lift your templar and kill them off as you build them. Problem is the gas cost of going templar is insane, and just building the templar archives is 2 phoenix. Hell, templar aren't even mobile enough to keep up with your own phoenix, so you'd have to turtle and hope your opponent doesn't attack at the other bases where the templar aren't. Templar are more gas expensive than pheonix, so it's not a good trade.

Flash won so long ago, i really love the 16 medivacs though.. Flash did that pretty much since the first sc2 games we saw of him, more people need to.. seriously, most underused overpowered combat unit ever, overmake them and then fall back.. If it's even possible to overmake medivacs from one starport.

1) Whirlwind is too big to use locusts defensively, as a quick unburrow+move to a different area is no problem
2) Vipers are pretty expensive when you constantly have to remake ling/bane to stay alive vs drops and bio all over the place, along with bio mobility leaving blinding not very effective since they just back up.

It's how he made BW TvZ look towards the end too with 17 wins - 2 losses. As long as he doesn't lose to an all-in he just macros his way ahead, trades decently and never takes his foot off the other guy's throat. I wouldn't say the mu is broken but Flash vs Z certainly is.

Any other Terran player, I believe, would rush for some timing attack or build a 3rd CC, after seeing the Zerg's 3rd expo. But Flash just kept calm, stuck to his gameplan, harass-macro beautifully without overcommitting, and still stayed ahead. Amazing.

It means nothing. Flash is just being Flash. In BW PvT it was usually the Terrans who complained about the matchup and If you saw these games it looked like the matchup was completely one-sided in Terran's favor. It actually LOOKED imba.

Problem was that he never tried to protect his morphing 4ths. BarrackS played fine, but, like rare, collapsed after a certain while (what I gathered from watching the later parts of the game).

wms can get countered by sniping muta flocks, good ling micro and they get shat on by ultras, I don't see any problem whenever I offrace zerg, on the contrary.

Specifically, Life ran his lings just far enough away from the WMs so that they couldn't lock on to any one of them :O

The only problem with mines it require extra APM for zerg to find them and clean them, but a player like Life seems able to do it, I guess people will improve with times
Havent seen a terran yet switching mine location between denotation to avoid losing them... but this day will happen :D

Were it quite close to the end (R6), I'd agree with you. But this is a good time to test players that could prove useful in the rounds to come. Maybe even useful in the playoffs.
It's not down to the wire yet, so it's not unreasonable to offer one spot for player testing.

flash vs rare was pretty nice, a good example of a "standard" tvz, although his early timing wasn't defended very well by rare it seems he lost a lot of drones to the drop and simultaneous push.
the calls by our casters were off as per usual, hyping possible roach aggression when the timing of the roach den (after third hatch, flash hadn't dropped a 3rd cc yet) could only be for defensive purposes..

All-ins are quite standard in this type of contest. Both sides want to play big entertaining matches, but that just won't happen unless they keep each other honest. All-ins every now and then keep players from happily committing outrageously greedy play, which would otherwise definitely happen too much.
