MOD NOTE: The bracket on Liquipedia is not final and should be assumed to be speculative. If you are a competitor, trust what MLG Admins tell you over the bracket.

God dammit, im pissed off about the fact that i thought the games after LB round 10 were going to be streamed later this week. I just watched VOD of DeMuslim vs that Tilea (who imo didn't even look like he should be in tourney xD) to then go on Liquipedia to see DeMuslim has played every game? And is out after losing 2-1 to Revival :S

God dammit, why put schedule out if ur not sticking to it? Or did results get leaked ;_;

Results got leaked, you can't hide results from the internet. They're still going to show the games as planned even though they were leaked.

"NA" Premier is gonna be a goddamn joke with all the koreans.
I can't see more than max two actual NA players making any difference.
Now we just have to hope all the Challenger league koreans make it to the Premier so there is atleast real NA challenger league to keep eyes on...

Global finals are prolly gonna be about 90% of koreans :D. Gj Blizzard.

There is no market for low level play between NA only players. In 2013 heavy multitasking play (like Center's) should be present for maximum viewing pleasure.
With the 3 parts of WCS being more or less identical, it would be very unfair to not allow korean players into EU and NA imo.

So sad to hear that Demu fell at the final hurdle. I think he put in a great performance in a pretty gruelling tournament he really shouldn't have had to play in, and him qualifying would have cheered me up after MLG's dire implementation of this event.

I feel for the MLG casters too. I really enjoy their casting but it's awful to see them getting conscripted into a kind of sham, which is what this qualifier has become.

So foreigners can't win even with server advantage?
Example: everybody giving a hard time to Revival so far and yet defeats Demuslim the acclaimed #1 in worldwide ladder, with lag.
Since they insist in making everybody play together why not introduce an handicap system like in Golf?

Hi! A quick question! Is CombatEX retired from playing SC2? I thought he would participate in this tournament since he's really a good protoss player. Man, he's been MIA since he lost to PartinG last year in the WCG finals.

ESL polished a turd, MLG polished a turd, no matter what they were both shining shit lol, so ESL did much better but MLG was trying its way of making some money... at least no real shutdowns or sound issues occurred, also we discovered some new casting talent in Shampoo. There were some silver linings!

As we all know people will watch, it may even get 100k-120k once it hits the RO64. I have always said, you want to grow you need personalities (which Koreans DO bring) and foreigner stories. Hopefully the latter will occur. It is now up to US to make our dreams come true, if we want eSports to grow, WE need to be the friendly ones, shake the hands and kiss a baby, be personable and once we come to play we gotta have flash and style and bring home victories, tweet your life stories and make people care about you.

Because, once two guys are in the booth, it isn't Blizzards fault you lost, its your own. We need to remember that and if NA players act entitled they won't get very far. This ain't the entitlement time any more. Put up or shut up. Actually do work, study who is in your bracket, find out tendencies, think of tactics, you can't outskill them? Try to metagame them, find anything that you can see as a weakness and play to that.

Know a SC2 GM pro? Have him/her do Korean tactics on you until you can beat them. Do 20 games where he just does widow mine drops. Another 20 of hellbats, then 20 more Oracle harrass. Controlled practice and improve your multitasking. Then do the same to him or her.

WE are the ones who will save eSports. By your behavior and your class, your promotion and character will get us 90% there. 5% will be sniping a few key Koreans, make them worried, use that home field advantage. You might start a steamroll effect.

The next few % is where the NA FANS come in. Cheer extra loud for your players. Maybe they bore you because they don't have the same inhuman skills, still you can manner up and allow yourself to stoop down to their level, they share a passion you do and they dream about beating the players you idolize. Allow them a chance into your hearts, maybe if you "adopt" a NA player you can see they have much you have in common.

Also, Twitch.tv chat, you can do better than this. Trolling isn't a sport. After awhile everyone acting as stupid as they can makes everyone stupid. Trolling would actually be being the only smart guy in the room. Talking shit about your players is classless. Heckling Incontrol was just embarrassing and TB has done so much for us and you still hate the guy.

Maybe think before you type if you want to expand eSports and new people try out the chat, they aren't sickened by the display and decide this is a place they want to spend their time.

A special message to casters: You do your best and I want you to know you are appreciated by 99% of us, fuck the haters.
There are things you can change, do a little more research into your players, maybe interview them a bit pregame, bring us an idea about the drama thats unfolding. Find out what each game means a little more, not knowing the stakes gets boring.

I am surprised if anyone read all this, but I just am inspired to make an essay.

Thanks for hosting all of this.

This kind of essay needs its own thread. Need more of this and less "koreans will destroy the NA scene."

I see it making the scene stronger. If the koreans continue to practice on NA, then the bar has been raised on the highest level of play.
I find it hilarious how the koreans are always being blamed for being good and tournament organizers for not banning or limiting koreans. Yet the ones that dont get the results, the NA or EU players are never blamed

This entire stuff just shows how rediculous WCS is.
Basically we have just two GSLs now the korean mostly Kespa by now one and the NA one. EU is only not so much because not many koreans compete there and it's laggy for them.
Result is that there is no elite league with the best of the best more, original GSL is butchered by many top players not playing there anymore..
It's all a shame, instead of just watching the GSL with the best players there is only the season finals now which will be a silly mix of koreans and a few europeans who won't stand a chance.

That mod note made me chuckle, trust the MLG Admins kids... Unless you're Chinese or knocked out by a hacker of course...

WCS America is a rather horrific joke... Blizard should really be taking some kind of action against MLG at this point, you'd think the contract with MLG lets them terminate in the face of so much incompetence. Who on earth thought MLG would do a good job with this... :/ It all seemed to be going so well since the HoTS release too...

He was playing on an account he didnt register with. Comm registered as Comm. Fruitsbacket registered as Fruitsbasket. Comm didnt get in but FB did. FB gave Comm his account and let Comm have his spot in the qualifiers. It's a violation of MLG's rules. They didnt respond to it until yesterday

Personally I never expected it to be this messy either. I mean MLG is always going to be MLG, but come on. At the end of the day I will still put an asterisk beside Blizzard's name because this was rushed and ultimately they are the one's who continue to choose to outsource when they did take in IPL. Next time don't rush things and make sure you get them right.
