you should be glad that the ESL is providing a host for this event.

Why should we? tbh i would have prefered Dreamhack

But DH does not operate huge online cups and leagues as ESL, they do (awesome) DH festivals.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

Well, it's not like we have another big tournament organiser in Europe who had 5 events last year, which all had better production than any of the SC2 IEM tournaments.

ESL:s biggest fault here is not trying to give any estimated time. I won´t sit F5 their website for hours...

I also think Dreamhack would do a better job, but maybe thats just me.

DH in combo with GDstudio, GDstudio doing this online stuff and Dreamhack the offline part, you cant get it much better then that imo.

But you can also ask why they fail to do such a simple thing. Just because we get something eventually does not mean we have to settle...

yeah but I allays hear if something doesnt work: ahh this organisation is like ***, they cant solve anything they are crap as hell blablabla...

but in fact organisations like ESL were the reason why esports is so big as it is right now.
So I rather spend my energy in doing something else in the meantime than flaming over the admins/organisations.

But if thats what the people want to do.. go on

dont be stupid.^^

Stupid? It's a simple loop with not very complicated mathematics.

i don't think all of the WCS contenders are registered at aligulac

They have to be registered at ESL of course.

Which they have, 20.000 players in the database.
BUT due to the feedback from teams who never play in Go4 cups, admins listened to this and try to insert manual seeds.
Which ofcourse if you are any goodwith databases.. can create zillion other problems

Presumably it would be prudent to have this ready before the tournament. You only need to know who signed up to make a seed, then you just strike out those who didn't check in and build your bracket. It's not magic.

Just using the Go4sc2 stuff that was in place for the WCS qualifier probably was not the best choice . Everything with WCS was a bit rushed.

This, and the check-in one hour before the start of a 1024-player tournament is absurd.

can't have a slight delay to get it perfectly sorted in the first try so it's better the next times without having everyone calling the tourney a failure before it's even started

gee this community

He was sarcastic if you haven't noticed. It takes so long, because they dont want top players to meet each other in the first round. Still they do not have any record of, for example, Tails' games so they cant auto generate the bracket, cause in the end it could happen that Tails plays vs Finale in the round of 1024.

I don't think they expected this many players tbh. The thoughtprocess of some of the organizers was probably : "we'll just host 4 Go4Sc2 cups like we do weekly with a few more players and everything will be fine " At least this is what it looks like.

Well the playerpool interested in WCS is massive unlike normal Go4sc2.
