Qualifiers are crazy. I don't know about the other guys, but the KeSPA players who advanced are not at all the best, except Jangbang...

Blizzard making GSL Season 2 Code S the first season of WCS KR is seriously one of the worst decisions they have ever made, if you're in Korea and not in Code S this season you're completely screwed for the first WCS season.

And none of them even knew how screwed they were until a week ago. Anyone who has the chance to will take a seed into Code S in another region to keep up on points and get a chance at some big money for the regional and seasonal finals.

Dropping in to say, "YAY, HACK."

Also, the obligatory: "lol bisu."

I don't blame him as its his best shot as progamer to earn money, which is completely reasonable. I said I disrespect the bold statement he made according to stay in Korea, because he doesn't care about the money and just wants to proof how good he is. It was nothing but empty talk for that matter. I get along with him well, I support him and I understand his decision, but maybe next time you put thought into it, before making such a bold statement ;-)

Why does he care about chat/ if he cares so much, why doesn't he just have mods mass ban the jerks?

I think he mentioned that they were started to be annoying on battle.net as well. So it might not just be limited to Twitch -- its probably just general dumbness.

That's assuming there will be plenty of seeds for Koreans in other regions.
The most deserving are staying in Code S and the rest rarely plays abroad.

The popular Koreans with good finishes in the past are the ones being offered seeds and they're all going to take them, there won't be a huge number of them but it will be most of the good players not in Code S this season. Then for the next two WCS KR seasons we're going to be missing a large number of competitors who could have potentially made it in.

Mass ban jerks = less stream viewers is probably the reason. I dunno I never look at twitch chat. It's even worse than ZvX LR threads at the end of WOL

Look at the top 50 of NA GM. Now tell me if Revival, JYP, Oz etc won't be offered some of those 24 seeds if they declare that they choose NA as their region.

Also... I understand that Naniwa is just a human being but did I hear from Khaldor that he won't play in the qualifiers because he doesn't want to be region locked to Korea? While I can understand that money attracts people and that he has a need for money as well, I don't understand his mentality. He said he's going to stick with Korea, because he doesn't care about the money and wants to be as high level as possible. If its just empty talk thats not worth respect.

Feel sorry for that, because I think its exactly the mentality that gets you far.

Did anyone but his most loyal fanboys actually believe that it was real and not just empty bravado when he was saying it doesn't matter where he plays, he'll play in Korea?

For that matter, even in my times where I didn't get along with Naniwa (and that was a long period haha) I always respected him as a progamer and human in his decisions (related to gaming) so yes, I did believe it wasn't just babble, thats why I'm disappointed in it even though its fully reasonable and a logical decision.

Seeds should be distributed according to accomplishments in the region or top 50 seeds would always go to Koreans.

He had said that the WCS ruined his plans on twitter. Also, a quote from his fanclub thread:

On April 09 2013 23:59 Naniwa wrote:
i went on a big rant ? i just thought the idea was pretty bad for alot of people. personally i would like nothing more than to play GSL, but to sacrifise a WCS europe seed, for the sake of playing the code a QUALIFIER. that would be very stupid.
I am not some person who just charges on without logic and only by heart like some of you think heh. i used to be alot more hot blooded in the past. but i dont say things i dont mean very often. i am still going to go to korea after WCS europe to continue practising I am not giving up hope of becoming the best i can be. if i did i would say so and i probably wouldnt play the game anymore sorry to those i dissapointed.

It makes sense for the lower tier and even some of the Code S to go for the WCS NA-EU
The prize pool is relatively the same.
And then if you get enough points (which would be ALOT Simpler in these regions)
you have a chance for even a greater prize pool.

Blizzard is offering them seeds because they want some Korean players in each region. We can only guess at the reasons for them wanting that although officially they say It's because they don't think foreigners can catch up if they only play amongst themselves.

And really can you imagine WCS NA without Korean players? I don't think there are even 32 pro gamers in NA.

Koreans have dominated MLG, NASL, and other major tournaments for as long as we can remember. What other "accomplishments in the region" could legitimate NA guys have over Koreans?
