yeah, but I have rarely seen ultras in WoL, perhaps b/c they just did 20 dps vs zealots and archons, so more than doubling the dmg output vs the counter units might make us see more ultra play now (?)

Well Protoss still has a chance against Ultras, if they have 8ish Immortals, Ultras die to fast to do damage and then you can safely transition into anything.
Still Ultras will probably be one of the first units to be nerfed with HotS. Just imagine the fight where Parting cliff jumped without stephano having thrown away his Infestors before.

Uh, the general consensus seems to be that PartinG didn't transition right when he saw ultras, not that Stephano played well.

I'm sorry to tell you that you're outright wrong. In WoL it was best to just have archon stalker, but actually spread them out. Parting decided to stack up the stalkers so that they take aoe(when you have a lot of archons as well, the lings is not a major factor) and maybe some immortals. Same goes for hots where the best counter is simply archon, immortal and some stalkers to fill out. Parting just don't seem to get that ultralisk have some mean aoe damage. Also, in wol you have plenty of infestors which render the zealots useless.
