Let me put it this way. Imagine a man walks up to you with pistol in one hand and says "Stand right there and let's have a fistfight." You don't want to get shot so you freeze, and he proceeds to pummel you into unconsciousness with his other hand. Then he goes and brags to everyone how beat you in fistfight fair and square without using a gun, and that's he a better Boxer than you.

You'd respond: Yeah, you might not have used that pistol, but I had take into account that at any point you could've shot me.

If I'm playing against Zerg, I always have to account for the fact that Infestor BL could be coming. For example, when a Zerg goes mass Mutas, you'll often see a Protoss attack to quickly and chewed up by Zergling Muta, or lose a base trade, because he knows mass spines and BL Infestor could always be on the horizon.

Even if Nerchio never used BL Infestor (which he in fact repeatedly did), part of his success would be based on that strategy.
