Well without it, Roach/Hydra would melt in ZvT because Tanks would destroy the composition. Suffice to say, Blinding Cloud is one of the few tool that can make Roach/Hydra useful in ZvT.

Yeah, absolutely. It's just a very different dynamic compared to WoL. Something to get used to. I love how it makes it easier to move into a bio/tank line as Zerg.

TaeJa did 12/14 Rax and pressured viOLet greatly, inflicting some economic damage and forcing Drones off. TaeJa macroed well and took his third at the time viOLet did, and had some good engagements with Bio. TaeJa pressured viOLet's third while Mutas came out, but upgrades, micro and the overwhelming macro of TaeJa won him the game.

This game has been really fun to watch. I'm not sure if that's because HoTS is well designed, or Taeja/Violet haven't figured out optimal unit comps, but I'm enjoying it regardless. I hope we see more games like this one.

awesome game, a bit weird to see hydra/roach comp against terran but it is a good thing since zerg have more options now with the vipers.

Taeja definitely doesn't know what to do after Viper's and ultras are out, no air switch.

Just my thinking, but wouldn't it be better to go into BLs rather than Ultras to transition out of Roach/Hydra? The Terran would be pumping Tanks and Marauders rather than Vikings and Ravens, so the BLs could go unopposed. But I guess the tankiness of Ultras helps the Hydras.

I think that battle kind of proved my point about the BL switch rather than Ultras. Tanks and Marauders in high numbers nullify Ultras regardless of buffs, but BLs can smash the Tank lines.
