With how good terrans are at spotting observers that's not reliable. If creep is spread far enough to give enough map vision to always know where your opponent is, you're already in deep trouble as it is.

Yes, because observers get killed but ravens don't? Ravens can get caught out by blink stalkers. If terrans were guarantee that their raven wouldn't die, I am sure more would make them.

Not THEM, only one, lol. Only one to move around with your ghost/viking deathball and it'd already pay for itself because protoss won't know where your army is at all. Which means you can win positional wars. AND, because of how quickly observers die, you can just gun them down in battles before the raven dies and then cloaked ghosts win the game. It's not like these guys don't have the control, it's just such a fixed mindset that raven is bad in TvP unless it's 1/1/1

1 raven is actually really good in tvp esp vs collossus play, problem is, as usual, we don't just warp shit in from 100 gateways. Any non medivac/viking building time for your starport puts you behind, so that means you need a 2nd starport, and a techlab, and the 200 gas which is needed for ghosts/ups.

The unit is definitely good, problem people miss is that you don't just wish it in your army and it magically spawns

Well as I said, I'm talking about as late into the game when you're on mass CCs, sacrificing SCVs to get a bigger army. I'm pretty sure you can afford to switch one starport with something techlab-equipped for that time it takes to build a raven. Or give it its own techlab, whatever. The price you pay is minimal compared to what it could do for you which is outright win the game if protoss doesn't snipe that thing immediately. Which actually can be avoided if you waste its energy constantly.

I guess? I actually love going for banshee openers because I can get a raven right after, which I think are fantastic mid-game. In late I'd probably rather have another ghost or 3-0 banshee, probably, not sure, but observers become less of a problem though.
