See, the ridiculous thing here is, you list the Spanish usage when we're all speaking English here. The point it, in Spanish, sure, it makes sense not to call them (people from the USA) 'Americans', but in English, the "English usage" rules take precedence. It has never been common in the English speaking world to try to call people from the USA "United Statesians", nor to use the Spanish word for it, because we're speaking English, not Spanish.

Your desire to refrain from calling the "Americans" is completely understandable but trying to tell others not to use the term "American" for people of the US when they are speaking English is just wrong and daft.
You can call them "US people" or something like that, but it's not the same type of national identifier. You'd have to always say "US American" or something like that.
Basically, this goes way back to an annoyance that they even called their country the United States of America, right? They don't own every single American (North, Central and South) country or territory, so not all American lands are United.

Trying to force people to change the way they identify a country after over a thousand years, in THEIR language is not going to work.

Hmm what ? I was speaking about WHY i used the term that way to the guy who got mad because of it. Not telling you should accept it use on english as standard from now on because i say so, but think that MAYBE people who are not english native will drop the term sometimes because that happens.

g1 roach bane bust crippled Life early, Life recovered and nearly killed fourth but it lived while gosu killed life's fourth.

Yes, it is the live audiences and in general the fact that you are physically there and others get to watch you play from within the same building. It's also the reason many talented online warriors or insanely good practice partners squander and fail on the stage, their nerve issues not allowing them to perform to the best of their ability.

Not to mention the fact that they're all playing on the same server. I'm not gonna comment on goswser's games in Iron Squid, but please try not to forget TSL 3 and the massive upsets that happened between koreans and foreigners there.
