Who would you have sent out in PuMa's stead or what b.o. would you ask of him? sHy is very good and it was a hard draw regardless like the rest. It had ace match written all over it.

Well if Puma hadn't thrown the game and won, EGTL would have won no?

If Puma didn't throw the previous game, EGTL would have won right there, without an ace match. That was the point.

If you believe that EG-TL was expecting JYP to beat Jaedong in an ace match, then I seriously question either you or EG-TL's ability to understand Starcraft.

why ? JYP known for his vZ and JD fucking awful vs protoss, he still cant handle immortal sentry allin.

only aces for EG-TL at this point should be Hero & Taeja.

I like JYP, but 1 base colossus against blink stalker is not a good idea.

What he did would have made 0 sense against blink stalker. He knew there was no blink. That kind of push is actually pretty strong against a FE and works a lot of the time. His micro was subpar with his Zealots stuck behind an Immortal that got focused down instantly. With better control and not wasting that warp in on the Zealots on the high ground he could have possibly won that.

...what? Good lord, you cannot be serious.

TLO improved a lot recently, so he's a much better choice than the current players. Sheth is going through some stuff, so he's out though.

They are the most experienced team if you look at how long most of their players have been playing SC2

but that doesn't really mean anything in a structured team league like PL where your opponents will spend all week preparing for you, down to the smallest details

yes a lot of it comes down to sending what players on what map and choosing the correct ace, currently eg-tl and t8 have the worst coaching staff, and they both are'nt doing great

You win some, you lose some. Let's not forget Taeja's (perhaps flawed under later analysis) effective response to a strategy that was probably sculpted specifically to take him out.

The majority reaction in this thread is amusing.

When JYP was called Taeja clapped to support him. Perhaps you guys can learn to do the same.

Was it a mistake? Maybe, but what is the point of all this whining. We have no idea what the thought process behind that decision was either.

Taeja just seems really happy to be in PL. I'm glad lol. Remember yesterday when CJ sent out Hydra? herO and EffOrt looked angry lol.

But I feel that neither player gets a blame in PvP. Unless they played utterly terrible, which JYP wasn't that bad this time, I think he just needs a "good luck next time"-pat in the back.

EGTL just doesn't do well with Ace matches, I guess At least my liquibet is going strong though lol.

I think Jaedong hit the nail on the head when he mentioned that they (EG-TL) were the new kids on the block. Besides Jaedong, the others don't really have much experience. You have PuMa who played a few and that's basically it.

I like JYP, but 1 base colossus against blink stalker is not the right move. I would argue that he actually got a more favourable build to face off against because of the cancel.

I think JYP pretty much knew it wasn't blink stalkers when it didn't hit at a certain timing. He probably figured out he got duped and shy had expanded putting him way behind. All he could do at that point was to try to all in.

Yeah T8 had it easy last season. Ace Match? Time to call out JD.

Ack, so close. JYP can play damn well, he just needs to adjust to the tournament setting, focus on keeping a clear mind to ensure that his early attacks are clean and efficient. Good showing by EG-Liquid, Proleague is far from over, so I have high hopes! EG-TL fighting!

JYP has had bad performances for the longest time.. I can hardly remember the last time he played a really good game against a good opponent. I get that coach would want to field him to give him experience, but right now he's pretty much a rookie. You don't send rookies as ACE unless you got something very special going on. Just by experience, even with that terrible map and with how he's performing vs P, even JD would have been a better choice.

Personally, I would have chosen HerO, he looked extremely confident, and that plays a huge part on PL matches, particularly on ACE matches.

Most matches went as I predicted, minus the ace. Would have never guessed JYP being sent out when you have TaeJa, JD, HerO present. Also Shy was an odd choice as well, no SoulKey? O_O!
