How can someone compare results of MKP to DRG? MKP is a total pushover now. And even just compare their peak, DRG is far better.

Lets not argue DRG vs MKP this year because no one sane would honestly argue MKP > DRG.

People be crazy.

Today was just not his day for some reason =/

Leenock can take it with a blizzcup win imo

Not sure if you're trolling? He (together with DongRaeGu and maybe Leenock) are the top players of this year.

If DRG is a contender for top player of the year, why isn't MKP? He's done better than DRG.

DRG has won a GSL and done a final of OSL more than MKP.

I think it's extremely hard to call any player the best of 2012, theres been so many periods, at the start of the year it was all DRG / MKP, then it was TaeJa, Rain, Life, Leenock, and throughout Mvp also won and placed high, so yeah... not to mention Stephano has been consistent throughout the year aswelll.

Stephano? He didn't win a single tournament with the level of competition as these other guys.

Both NASL3 and LSC2 had pretty tough competition. But yeah, not at the same level.

You are right, it is hard. But still think Mvp and DongRaeGu both have been among the best over longest periods of time this year, which imo is the deciding factor.

One would really love to fit for example Life there as well, just because he had such recent success.

Well, if you bring Life in. Will need to include Rain, PartinG as well. And Leenock if he gets to finals of this tournament.

He has also been awful for the last few months.. but I guess that doesn't matter

Awful as in making OSL finals and still being in Code S throughout his "slump"

He got second place in OSL less than 2 months ago. MKP does have one more arena win but the OSL and especially the GSL more than weighs up for that.

beat pretty bad players to get there tbh

He beat MKP to get there, LOL.

Like he said, he beat bad players to get there

Better than code S players is enough.

Lol MKP who made 2 ro8's recently is a complete pushover compared to someone who aside from today, has been awful even though his race was ridiculous

MKP is always a total pushover, even in the days when he got silver. He can't take a punch from anyone.

This year, when DRG won a GSL, while Marineking is still a kong?

To be fair, which player has been consistently on top in 2012? The top end is just so stacked right now. You could make arguements for Mvp, Leenock, Taeja, MKP, Rain, PartinG, Life as being the top player in the world at one point during this year.

1 GSL a piece
1 MLG a piece
DRG has a MLG arena
Leenock has IPL5 which was probably the hardest non code S tournament this year
both have a 2nd place MLG finish
DRG has OSL 2nd place
it'd be close
im probably missing some other things if anyone wants to add on

Then we can say the same arugment for DRG. What has he accomplished for the second half of the year?
