Not sure if you're trolling? He (together with DongRaeGu and maybe Leenock) are the top players of this year.

If DRG is a contender for top player of the year, why isn't MKP? He's done better than DRG.

DRG won a GSL, 1 MLG, 1 MLG Arena, OSL 2nd

MKP won 1 MLG and 1 MLG Arena.

DRG has won a GSL and done a final of OSL more than MKP.

He has also been awful for the last few months.. but I guess that doesn't matter

Awful as in making OSL finals and still being in Code S throughout his "slump"

He got second place in OSL less than 2 months ago. MKP does have one more arena win but the OSL and especially the GSL more than weighs up for that.

beat pretty bad players to get there tbh

Ah I see, so it may or may not be better for Parting that he won... depends on performance of his opponents.. It'd be funny if tomorrow there was a game like this last one to decide 2nd/3rd but they were both trying to throw it to play DRG instead of Parting lol. Kind of a goofy format, I'm not a fan of these tournaments where they don't make the incentives really clear for every match.

I think it's extremely hard to call any player the best of 2012, theres been so many periods, at the start of the year it was all DRG / MKP, then it was TaeJa, Rain, Life, Leenock, and throughout Mvp also won and placed high, so yeah... not to mention Stephano has been consistent throughout the year aswelll.

You can't really throw to play DRG instead of PartinG... Can only be the other way around...

Ah right, that is what I meant... I'm very tired should have slept like 6 hours ago but couldn't cause of how good these games were (and Leenock playing). So happy that Leenock got first.

I don't think neither we can call a best player of the year, but it seems to me that DRG has done better than MKP.

with Mvp going 0-4 and DRG making it through, DRG is basically a lock for the player of the year award that TL will probably do like last year. It was really just between those two guys. Maybe in DRG doesn't make it through the up/downs somehow it would still be hard to call since Mvp did beat two solid protoss players to make it back into Code S. Today was just not his day for some reason =/

You are right, it is hard. But still think Mvp and DongRaeGu both have been among the best over longest periods of time this year, which imo is the deciding factor.

One would really love to fit for example Life there as well, just because he had such recent success.
