What did I tell you... unless they field their best korean lineup of taeja, hero and puma.... EGTL will almost always suffer embarrassing losses.
The gap between Western vs Asian players continue to grow...
You just watched 4 SC2 bo1s. Two of them were all ins. One was a simple unscouted timing. There are no broad conclusions to be drawn yet...smarten up.
And this is why I can't really get into this whole Proleague thing. Nothing can be determined from a bo1. It's really hard to see these matches as anything but pointless.
It's how history of Starcraft has been determined for a decade.
The mentality that losing a game to all ins or lack of scouting doesn't matter and a game that isn't a 40 minute Infestor/Broodlord/Mothership fest somehow doesn't mean anything is just foreigner mentality that developed with SC2.
Losing a game in Proleague has always meant a lot. Losing two or three in a row is nothing short of a disaster for most A teamers. Two seasons ago, Fantasy got demoted to B team for that.

In this type of format, the whole team is one player, in a way. Every player that plays is part of the game plan and the games need to be planned out like one would plan a BOx finals in any singles competition. The team is one entity..

Pretty much this... it's the losers who can't accept defeat and love to feel elitist because they always play passive "macro" games and then choose to blame it on anything but themselves when they get hardcountered. Lol. Sad but true.

Foreign banner getting run over? It was already run over a long time ago when EG and TL started recruiting Koreans to fight their war.
It is pretty sad to see people saying that EG-TL needed HerO and Taeja to actually compete in the Proleague. It is even saddening that only Koreans are gonna be the only one that can win games for the foreign teams(EG,TL).
If anything, this just shows the current state of the foreigner's caliber and the total domination of Koreans over the rest.
Of course there are a few exceptions such as Stephano but the guy can't commit the time to a yearly season Proleague.
Not realy a surprise when there is no actual place to "grow" foreign good players. As soon as they get out from some random weekly cup and visit a bigger tournament they get swarmed by koreans who fly around the world to grab the prizemoney. This is discouraging for the viewers when it gets to like Ro16 all koreans (which also means that the few good foreigners that exist occupy Ro32+) and its discouraging for the players. They will get players that they have hardly any chance to beat as opponent and the"skill progression" that should be reflected during a tournament is not there anymore. So they stay to those cups where they maybe win something small and the new players that replace them get crushed even more. Sure, this is also a problem of the Sc2 playerbase as a whole because not enough fresh blood comes in, but I'm sure this tournament organisation has something to do with it. There was a time in german football where most of the good players in the Bundesliga were "imported" and the results in the european/worldwide tournaments were bad. Now, with a very good training system we have fantastic players again that also are allowed to play from their youth clubs up into the Bundesliga because the trainers trust in them instead of a new bought brazilian.

nobody hyped them to win it all.. they are hyped because they are the first (i think) non-korean team to compete in proleague and their roster is FULL of fan favorites. They could win or get last and the community is behind them. This is a feel good moment for those that watched BW and know the importance of proleague. Western teams have finally made it to the big show and it's fucking fantastic.
Plenty of people hyped them to win it all. Even after seeing lineups for today's matches yesterday, somebody even said EG-TL will sweep KT with a 4-0.

This is the biggest bullshit that has spawned from the SC2 forum. Somehow we have made this assumption that if its a cheese or all-in then "it doesn't mean anything." Well sure, maybe player A beats player B in a macro game 100% of the time, but if player B can rush player A and win 100% of the time, who is going to win?
You KNOW what map you're playing on, you KNOW who you're playing against. PL forces you to prepare for everything. You can't always play a game to your strengths, and not being able to cover weaknesses does make you the worse player. I'm not saying that I'd rather see 10 minute all-ins over huge 200/200 battles, but you can't simply dismiss a player who spent time preparing an all-in that worked.

I don't think anyone legitimately expected Zenio to beat Flash.

your post is completely wrong.
1. you dont need a place to "grow" foreigners. the koreans have a completely different system. in korea progamers have a popidol like status. its a job at least some people can do for living. even when you put 10 foreigners in a "bootcamp" for years you wont get the same results, because you dont have the numbers. what is 10 against 100.000?
2. your vision from "koreans, swarming foreign tournaments for the prizemoney" sounds very.. well, stupid. these koreans usually get invited, because noone would notice your tournament if no top koreans are starting there. nobody noticing means less prizemoney, and this is worse for foreign players than for koreans, who still have GSL, PL, OGN etc.
3. about the german bundesliga: its still the situation that about 50% of the players are foreigners. on the starting day of the last season 2011/2012 there were 54% germans and 46% foreign players on the field.
dont post wrong facts if you dont get your shit together.

Exactly, westerns' preference on macro late games over early games can go back to 10 years ago, that's how Grrrr got his OSL championship. However, after Koreans realized how to play late game, no more foreigners. On the other hand, early game needs much more details and micro, 1 second can change the whole match, foreigners just can't focus on those details. This is one of the reasons that Koreans are better at Starcraft.
Even Boxer bunker rushed Yellow 3 times in OSL final, cemented his legend status.

Most of the Proleague players have their skill in full bloom, ranking about top-tier Code S players. Even taeja, hero and stephano would be very lucky to go 50/50 against them. its nice to hype something, but dont believe the hype!
So you tell people to not hype something and then randomly call most Proleague players top-tier Code S players?
