1. you dont need a place to "grow" foreigners. the koreans have a completely different system. in korea progamers have a popidol like status. its a job at least some people can do for living.
even when you put 10 foreigners in a "bootcamp" for years you wont get the same results, because you dont have the numbers. what is 10 against 100.000?

2. your vision from "koreans, swarming foreign tournaments for the prizemoney" sounds very.. well, stupid.
these koreans usually get invited, because noone would notice your tournament if no top koreans are starting there.
nobody noticing means less prizemoney, and this is worse for foreign players than for koreans, who still have GSL, PL, OGN etc.

3. about the german bundesliga:
its still the situation that about 50% of the players are foreigners.
on the starting day of the last season 2011/2012 there were 54% germans and 46% foreign players on the field.

dont post wrong facts if you dont get your shit together.

1) This is wrong. This was maybe true for BW, but not for Sc2. I would also think that the vast majority of sc2 sales were not made in korea. But yes, they have a different system, and better (as in more focused) training conditions. Your "popidols" (lol) live in small appartments and have to share their room with other people though. This does not work so well for the western players because a) not every team can afford an EG style house and b) the players are from all over the world, compared to just korea.

2) This does hurt the tournaments in the long run. It was a novelty to see foreigners play against top koreans, but its not anymore. The next big thing were/are Kespa players. This will wear off too. It gets *boring* to view foreign tournaments where such a large portion of players are koreans who pretty much make out the best places among themselves. There is a reason that the most viewed matches are foreigners / koreans. Do you realy think that all the other Proleague games will get a viewercount like the EGLiquid ones? If you don't start to invest in growing a local scene it will NEVER get better.
(Additionally, single tournaments like MLG are way more suitable to play in even if you are not american than a weeks/month long GSL)

3) Before you insult people you should check those "facts" yourself. Those 48% are not from a single country, the largest batch (~7%) are austrians, a direct neighbour and also german speaking. Just like 13-14% are not from the EU.
Also, compare to the other leagues and how well they do. Spain, pretty much the best team in the world has 37%. EPL? 65% and they have a huge problem in their national team. Every league who wants to get better has to invest into homegrown talent. If this is not the case they will suffer. A large portion of the best players of each club are from their own youthsystem now, it has the most fans in the stadions of all competitors, its not a 2 team league like spain and it attracts even more viewers on TV from all over the world.

But ofc you can think what you want, just don't expect the situation to get any better. The hype is down, the addon will not be able to ignite it to WoL levels again. We will see who pays the prizemoney or flights when the viewercount gets lower and lower.

To be fair; That's not unlike kpop stars live. Korean culture is quite different than western culture regarding employer/ employee relationships. At least in entertainment businesses.
I Protoss winner, could it be?

lol at the result, honestly expected much different. Good job KT, you smashed a team whose experience was supposed to make them the favorites for the league.

Had EGTL been able (or just send) to send Hero, TaeJa and Stephano the result may very well have been different. Their strength comes from Stephano and TaeJa being absolute monsters and Hero being as good as most proleague players. JD might be good in the future on sc2 but he is not yet, JYP was always me, ThorZaIN has chances vs koreans only in TvT and TvP and well Zenio just doesn't win anymore.

I hope that they will send their strong players in the future, they risk getting trashed if they don't.

Since it's not an all-kill format TaeJa won't be here to carry the team alone (lol IPTL) so they probably won't win anyways but they have quite a good shot.

Yeah, switch out Zenio for IdrA and you have the weakest possible TL / EG lineup.

But the manner of losses wasn't too discouraging.

Zenio was one bad decision away from giving Flash a run for his money, Thorzain lost to an all-in that we just don't see that often anymore, JYP seemed just a little too nervous and Jaedong lost to the strongest all-in there is right now.

So with a bit more prep-time I can see them not rolling over and getting mounted so easily next time.

It can be easily argued that the last 3 games were lost to strong all-ins that are difficult for even the best players to consistently defend. Especially the immortal-sentry all-in on Ohana. I'm pretty sure KT, knowing their relative lack of experience, practiced these all-ins hard before the match and knew that was their gameplan from the start. It's easy to transition from their excellent BW mechanics to executing an all-in than getting stuck in making a lot of strategical decisions in a long-term game where they aren't as familiar with the SC2 game.
