Heh, Sting went 3-2 in every round of this tournament.

Such a shame Grubby couldn't close it out

Amazing that Sting won. He is just a B-teamer in NSHoseO (or is he in a foreign team now? Don't remember) but he is capable of barely beating the top foreigners!
Gratz.

Don't judge if you are not informed. He is on Western Wolves now.
He was in the TSL semifinals and has beaten a lot of top koreans as well.

Lol you misunderstood my post. I wasn't sarcastic, I'm happy that he won, I would have prefered LucifroN but a terran is more than fine. And it's cool that just a B-teamer can beat this level of competition, that means the gap is still present.

And you misunderstood him, he is trying to tell you that Sting is very good even among koreans and not just a B-teamer any more. So the gap is not as big as you make it sound (for a very small amount of foreigners).

Pretty sure he was still a B-teamer when he was NSHoseo.

Nope, he was on NSH A-team. B-team was made of Salvation, Brave, Flower, Sia, Shuttle, Fairy...

How was he on the A-team but not Shuttle?

I don't think people are trying to down play Grubby at all. It is more a reply to all the 'the best multitasking ever', 'THIS is how you win vs infestor/broodlord', "Grubby redefining PvZ', 'Grubby is Code S level' just base on 1 game.

Yeah, its understandable because they are fans and are happy that he is playing well but for a 3rd party with no skin in the game it's annoying as hell to read. Luckily Grubby is such a great guy that I can forgive him his.. overzealous fans.

anybody knows if there's a possibility how to lower the quality of the twitch stream (http://no.twitch.tv/esltv_sc2/b/342813316?t=150m40s), i think it's running in HQ which my connection can't handle

It goes the other way around as well. People saying there were no good Koreans in the competition, that Sting isn't more than a Korean GM player and so on. People seem to enjoy making hyperboles to support the arguments, big shocker.

well this has been an issues since his wc3 days. Grubby is like the MU of esport, having the most ridiculous & clueless fans ever. It's just that hes been mediocre at this game so these compliments become even more nonsensical.

epic games and good tournament by IEM. Was a pleasure to wake up every day at 5 am and enjoy every second of it. Pretty sad for Grubby but i guess Sting deserved it. I hope to see more from them both in the future. Also Kaelaris+Artosis were damn sick! Is next stop on Poland?

Still sad that Sting wasn't recruited by TL. Anyway great result for him, sad for Zenio. But overall this IEM has been pretty underwhelming, hope Poland will be better.

Underwhelming? How do you figure?

I saw close matches, upsets and good play. Are you talking surroundings?

well won, sting.. Well won.
We promise with a view to hope, but the reason to "accomplish" what we promised would be fear.

So Grubby beat MC, and then he loses the tournament to a Code B player? Grubby really missed his chance to finally win a tournament.

There's plenty of amazing talent in code B. That's really no reason to sell a player short.

I know but it's kind of anticlimactic to lose to a guy who never qualified for Code A after beating a two time GSL champion in what the commentators called the best PvP ever. Starcraft II seems so random sometimes.

It's PvP that is random lol, not starcraft II.
