Look at players who are around the same level like Killer and Titan and see what kind of results you get in ZvP.

Some of it is nationalism, yeah.
Some of it though is "I want the underdog to win; I think the underdog can win; The underdog is going to win; OMG THE UNDERDOG LOST, FUCK KOREA".
