Recent GSL results are so strange sometimes. I feel like I don't have any clue how it's going to play out, so much inconsistency all around.

Ok...
my predictions:

Bogus wins vs Sniper
Polt/Bogus wins vs Polt/Bogus
PartinG soultrains Sniper to retirement
Parting slays the terran.

lol people voting yes for that game? Polt played well but it wouldn't have ended that early if Parting hadn't played a completely awful game. Terran bias I guess (I'm only that way in games vs. Zerg though), w/e.

Polt's actually never won a GSL group before. He's always advanced 2nd every single time.

I don't play protoss, but game 2, was it because Parting went to upgrade storm after colo? So he didn't get enough colo/stalkers? Or was it simply because he tried taking 3rd so early?

Parting is now the third player this GSL to have chosen a player he beat in ro32 and then losing to them in ro16.

First two are DRG picking Creator and Yoda picking Hyun.

It would be weird if they didn't talk about it because on a normal day that should be a pretty even match up with Parting probably having an edge. Polt stomping him was just as much down to Parting not playing well as it was to Polt playing well.

Game one can only be appreciated if you've watched Polt vs. Parting Ro32 in S2 and S5. Parting continually went for a fast third, Polt tried to play macro late game, and it just ended up with Parting have more stuff do to getting the quick third and not being punished. Polt finally had enough, countered it, and won.

Tonight's games following the trend of round of 16 having sorta weird games where you wonder wtf if going on in one player's brain. So good to see Polt has recovered from whatever funk he was in at LSC2.

I think you'll find it is. Polt out smartened PartinG and read him like a book, thus outplayed him.
