Hard to say that the first game was a BO win. If Parting's army had been at home or engaged polt's main force in a decent position then it wouldn't have been clear cut that he'd have lost. BO win should be reserved for extremely clear cut cases, like building DT:s against someone with no detection. Otherwise the meaning of that term will just be entirely void and be used for people who win with fast three gate pressure against FE.

You mean you really want a terran other than MVP to win something this year i assume.

Wait, games have already been played? The OP is not being updated. I deduce from the thread that Polt 2-0'd Parting?

Yes it is pretty disappointing. Hopefully HotS makes it more possible for players to stay a step above others so we actually have people consistently getting ro4s. This year every season has been like an entirely new ro4. Only like MVP and DRG have got 2 ro4s.

lol people voting yes for that game? Polt played well but it wouldn't have ended that early if Parting hadn't played a completely awful game. Terran bias I guess (I'm only that way in games vs. Zerg though), w/e.

One player playing awesome and destroying the other player with really smart moves can make a game look really cool too.
But yeah, of course there is some bias factoring in as well.

Build order win is not outplaying.

I think you'll find it is. Polt out smartened PartinG and read him like a book, thus outplayed him.

That's not what outplaying means. PartinG's just way too predictable and Polt punished him for it.

I am not sure whether it is consistency or that player skill is actually really close right now. Remember that even the 'dominate' players only have a 60ish% win rate.

Polt will win this GSL but they won't consider it a legit one because it was so short and the finals are played in vegas. So technically Polt still won't be a GSL champion.

It is if you use an extremely non-standard build ie. 6 rax no fac/no starport in preparation for your particular opponent.

That was clearcut. That build was designed to bring a mass of units against a no tech protoss. Parting is famous for the 3nex build.

Polt so good! Just got on thinking that Parting would go out 1st in the group but ended up seeing Polt up 1-0 and about to kill Parting's 3rd. Polt is the hero that SC2 deserves.

Polt also now 16-1 when winning 1st set. That might be the best in GSL.

Fucking Ganzi.

My point is that there's a difference between doing a good build and getting a build order win.
