I think this is the most likely explanation.
They can split that 8000$ they will get in 2014.
Didn't last year's ESWC pay reasonably quickly ?
They were supposed to pay in 3 months but paid in 9 or 10 I think as I can't remember well. Still terrible but it's better than nothing. They also promised to pay the 2008 cahsprizes with the 2013 bankroll.
Yeah, even though he didn't win ESWC he probably still earned a bigger check here than he would have at MLG. Not saying it would be impossible but it would be pretty damn hard to crack top 2 at that MLG for almost anyone

So still better than ESL, and I guess pretty close to what everyone does ?

MLG pays out within a month, GSL within a couple weeks. Not sure about the other leagues.
Actually one time MLG did take a while to pay out, for Providence 2011 I guess it was because the prize money amount was so huge, I think FXOBoss said it took 2-3 months for Leenock to get his 50k.
If the standard for payouts was 9 or 10 months then esports is a joke.
Wow MaNa will earn at least 7 places in the earnings ranking. From 20th to 13th or 12th (depending if he gets the first place or not). http://www.sc2earnings.com/
The players he will surpass : Genius, Sen, Naniwa, HuK, Nerchio, ThorZaIN, aLive (and maybe HerO)
On the french stream I'm reading forgg vs mana BO3. Is it really a bo3 ? What kind of joke is that :-/ This ESWC has been quite disappointing to say the least.

Heh, ForGG would move up like 40+ places with a win, it would more than double his earnings.
Does anyone know anything about the SA scene? I remember some online tournament with loads of South Africans which bly, phoenix and sjow took turns winning but besides that I haven't heard much from SA except for the occasional appearance of PandaTank in the international scene.
