That was amazing PvT by First, the use of blink stalkers to kill ghosts was actually amazing.

Nothing is suprising, as at IEM foreigners were knocking down Koreans left and right. We even had a foreigner vs Korean final, with the zerg powerhouse Nerchio and fan-favorite MVP...

What's left here?

Teaja, that's OK, he's #1 terran in the world right now - but I don't think that he's the most exciting terran. It looks like he's going down anyway, as TvP still has it's issues.
First - some random toss...
TheSTC - some random terran...
Leenock - well, it's nice to see him back, but there's just so much zerg anyway so who cares really.

The exciting part at IEM was that we were kind of accustomed to the idea of eu zergs winning most of eu tournaments. But taking down the Koreans was something else and at least it made some people angry and inclined to find out how far can they actually go

I don't see how you can say First and STC are some random players. Don't you follow the professional SC2 scene?

Sasquatch also beat MKP, which meant Stephano couldn't avoid a zvz.

Then he lost to Revival, meaning Stephano had to play Revival!

No.

First can advance by either winning 2 of the first 3 games.

If Taeja wins 2 or 3 of the 3 games, First still has a shot in BO7, which starts with Taeja's lead.

Imagine it like this,

If Taeja wins the first Bo3 then he sends First down to the "loser's bracket". In this case the Loser's bracket is just him facing Taeja again.

So in other words because First played better and avoided the losers.bracket he only has an advantage if he.can win the first bo3 . If not Taeja gets the advantage because they'd both lost one series at that point. MLG is such a joke and its a shame because I really want to like it

MLG making things complicated

Perhaps, but that's how the rules of the Finals of MLG Championships worked (with varying series length) since Dallas 2011, only because lots of them were rematches, they started as extended series instead.

The popular alternative is 2x Bo3, where the WB player can go LLWLW and advance. This format still gives an advantage to the WB, but it's not as strong.

You guys place way too much emphasis on us versus them.

The games have been pretty sick.
