Off topic, but have they announced if any KeSPA players will be at MLG this weekend, because the WCS Korean finals will be ending this weekend as well. If it comes down to that, I guess the players already in the top 10 could forfeit, since they would have already secured a spot in the WCS Asian Championship. But the winner also gets a direct seed to the WCS Grand Finals, so I'm hoping that the Koreans take this seriously. tbh since wcs asia looks to be much easier than wcs kr, a seed to wcs asia is just about the same as a seed to the global finals anyway haha
the greater allure imo will be being called "korean champion"

wouldn't you want to be seeded into the continental finals so you could win more money anyway ~_~
or do you get to play in the continental even if you get the seed to the global finals

I don't think the Kespa players will go to MLG because they still have pro leagues and all the teams are so close that it is do or die. Alive already said he would have to forfeit unless matches get rescheduled. Not sure about HerO. But they are the only players that are both still in WCS and in pool play. Will players forfeit their WCS spots to play in the open bracket? I am not sure.

I assume so. Because there is still a big prize pool involved. Would be kind of weird if the winner couldn't play and missed out on that.

lol this is so funny. ive thought to myself about all of the questions recently mentioned, but i just assumed that someone else would know the answer and enlighten me >_>
but to be honest, i dont think the koreans care much about the tournament. even the kespa players mentioned how they never considered participating in the tournament to be the representatives for korea. they only want the experience against GSL players lol. even MC and Mvp decided it was in their best interests to go to IEM (and probably MLG...). if you ask Mvp and the extra $6500 in his bank account, he would probably say it was the right choice :D

I'm really happy for Mvp because now he doesn't have to concern himself with WCS and doesn't have to play as much, I think MC is going to regret forfeiting if the prize pool for WCS is huge though.
Mvp was in everything in Korea, seeded into WCG, WCS OSL and GSL S4 coming up.
