None of these Kespa wins honestly surprise me much.

Aside from DRG who's been identified as slumping for a while, we've seen players like Horror, Yugioh, Tails, and sC fall, all of whom are Code A or Code B at best. Combine that with the fact that Kespa players are simply have more experience as progamers (i.e booth experience) and how they have the psychological advantage mentioned by Soulkey and Jaedong, and you have a pretty fertile field for Kespa victories.

Well, it's Gumi now. Gumiho is a different deal than these Code A and B players.

And, well, I think the same way but it's basically validation that these Kespa players have the potential to be amazing in a quick amount of time.

It's obvious that they're already amazing. I mean, as Creator mentioned in an interview, they've been playing SC2 for longer than people realize, and all of them are Masters/GM on the Korean ladder.

They have tried SC2 before but if you think they have actually practised it properly for longer then, well, I think you're mistaken. Rather than believing all of them are lying I think Creator is just mistaken. Seems to be the more rational explanation to me. After all, many said they tried it for a week or two around a year ago or so, but that's all.

Effort will get a sizeable eco advantage. Gumiho should have gone for the jugular instaead of running around trying to pick off the overlord.

DRG, Leenock, Coca, Symbol... yeah, the excuse that all GSL players who lost to Kespa players were bad doesn't hold up, does it?

Nestea lost also and so did Jjakji. But they're slumping too of course and played bad and didn't care.

they are slumping atm..... nestea has not been looking strong aside from getting to ro8 to get 3-0ed out, and jjakji has never been impressive since his win, i guess nestea is remaining the same and not slumping, but jjakji is just never impressive nowadays

I think a lot of people overestimate the skills of code a/b gsl players, they are really not that good in the grand scheme of things. kespa players can easily be better than them already.

GOM players will actually start looking worse and worse. Only the top will hold.

Yeah, after all, top 8 in the hardest tournament SC2 has had is a sign of not looking very strong.

I think you guys are downplaying the factor of mentality. It means so much in the booth, even all the Kespa players are acknowledging that in interviews, so I don't see why you guys are so snidely discounting what I'm trying to say when the very players that you support are acknowledging that as a key factor. There's a reason why players so frequently underperform in the booth compared to how they play in practice, why some players end up being complete beasts online while looking terrible in live play: It's all mentality. Kespa players both have the advantage of far more booth experience than most GSL players, and on top of that, as Soulkey mentioned, all the GSL players are playing "burdened" while the Kespa players are just playing calmly and relaxed.

The biggest thing holding back Code A/B players is nerves IMO. Just think about how many times we hear about someone being a "practice bonjwa", how many times a team claims that a player is incredibly scary in-house only to look pretty mediocre in the booth. The most recent example of this is Yoda: MVP claimed that he's the strongest player in the IM house right now (yes, stronger than him, Nestea, or Seed), yet he got stomped by Taeja in a very one-sided game.
