not at the moment, but it's undeniable in 2 years of sc2
noone can argue that they are the best from their race, looking at the history of the game. But atm i think MC is the "legendary player" who is in the best form.
I still view MC as the most influential player in Starcraft history. Maybe he's not the outright best, but he really defined how everyone played Protoss, and still continues to do so
yea i agree, protoss were doing random builds every which where. mc created the standard and an actual goal in the match ups.
He showed the power of sentry/gateway pushes Popularised Stargate style PvZ which comes in and out of popularity as the standard play
Even recently he's shown the optimal way to play against Stephano roaches

MC is a boss, but I am not sure it is true that he defines Protoss play. I always consider MC as someone who plays quite distinctively as a Protoss. He is a very aggressive player who excels at 2 base all-ins. Obviously he can macro too, but I do feel he is a lot more ruthless and aggressive compared to other Protoss players.

he is also the top earning player, and is the only top player who has really made an impact with his personality. MVP and Nestea remeains very anonymous.

While we're talking about influential protosses brown does not get enough credit, he created modern PvZ with things like aiming for fast 3rd bases, the strength of archon toilets against brood lord infestor and late game carrier approaches came heavily from his match against losira on daybreak.
