Ghosts are really tanky and have a good dps against zealots, moreover emp is pretty good and they don't take additionnal damage from Stalker. In a perfect world all your bio units would be ghosts late game.
They also have negative DPS (well, not negative, but 1/3 of unstimmed 1/5 of stimmed marine per supply when 3/3).
They're also much more tanky and EMP can drain up to like half the HP/shields of units in the first place, and they have cloaking. Plus marines versus 3/3 zealots with guardian shield are good but not so good.
The thing is you end up with a Roach counters muta sort of problem. Cheap unit with higher DPS can just inflict alot of damage while ignores army.

I don't think its petty at all. I'd rather not use a huge amount of my free time contributing to a community that is this hateful. The number of horrible comments about female friends of mine at the last event I worked confirmed my opinion. My time is better spent elsewhere.
