The Blizzcon Invitational was a two day thing and Mvp won $50,000 from that.
I just can't see them building up this huge final and it not having some insane ground-breaking prize pool. If they come out and the winner only gets $50,000 (I KNOW IT'S A LOT), it will be looked at as an anti-climax compared to other e-sports prize pools.

How mad would Mvp be if it turns out the winner of the WCS gets $500,000 or something insane? holy crap 500k hahaha. i would be happy with like, 75k-150k
500k would be a bit weird, imagine in some no-name won it (stephano IPL3 style) and would overtake 2 years' worth of MC and Mvp work.

I guess people are tipping with their heads rather than their hearts for this one, a rare occurrence in the polls! TBH am surprised at this so far, doesn't hero have many more fans than creator? IPL Ace Arena (or whatever) is really their only existing H2H record, where Creator completely dominated HerO, in a time where he had much stronger PvP. Nowadays, PvP seems to be his weakest match-up, whereas Creator has remained strong in it. H2H advantage, check. Match-up advantage, check.

hmmm i dnooo... creator's weakest matchup is probably his pvp (he claims so himself) and he has been knocked out of tournaments by pvp more than any other (e.g. out of IEM quals by inori and ace, gsl by nani, ipl5 by yonghwa etc). he probably is above average but it's still not easy to be confident in it like i am for his pvz :D [well i guess with creator derp moments too, hard to be confident all the time, but i guess being more confident in him than mkp is some small consolation ahaha]

I remember when Valve announced TI11's prize pool, I couldn't believe it.

Though it is hard to say what sort of shape Sc is actually in these days I would be surprised to see Jaedong lose this series. Sc isn't nearly as good as he once was due to his injuries and Jaedong is getting really strong IMO.

Someone like Oz went from being one of the world's best, to being the butt of jokes on this forum within a month or so!
Really looking forward to this day's play. Damn, I want Jaedong to triumph, but I feel really bad for sC and his health issues

Ehh I know it would mean a lot to people if Jaedong won, but I've got to root for sC. I want him to triumph in spite of his struggles and return to the top.
MVP v Happy might be a good series. TvT from known mech players *drools*
The rest I don't really care much about. I only hope DRG crushes.

I actually went through liquipedia last week and was adding up the totals from WCS so far. This is what i found:
Of the individual country qualifiers, Blizzard has given out $273,980.
For the continental qualifiers, Blizzard is paying out $135,600 not including Asia as I couldn't find their total. With Europe getting $60k, I expect it to be around there. I believe I did all my math correctly on these numbers, but its possible i did not.
So without the Asia numbers and the actual WCS Championship numbers, Blizzard will give out $409,580. Pretty decent chunk of change. But I think it will sky rocket after the Championship numbers are announced. We have seen $100,000 prize pools multiple times. It would be really underwhelming to see WCS just do that. Especially when the Europe finals are getting $60,000. Hell Europe and NA together are $90,000. WCS finals has to give more than Europe, NA, Asia and Oceania imo.
I think the winner would have to get at least $100,000. Thats what the early seasons of GSL were pretty much. Another thing to think of is Riot and Valve. Valve has their $1 million dollar Dota 2 tournament. Riot is giving out like $25 million next year. Blizzard is certainly keeping their eyes on that. I don't know if Blizzard will match what Valve is doing, but I dont think it will be far off.

I don't know just how well informed you are, Valve did that to kick start Dota2 as an e-sport and gain attention. It has LoL to compete with, which is wildly popular everywhere, SC2 doesn't have as much competition.
