24 larva is only 48 lings. And hatcheries are capped at how many larvae you can have on each. Capped at 16 or 19 or something. I'm not saying his injects were great, he might have been missing them like you say. But he did throw a LOT of lings at that army in waves. You really can burn through several hatcheries full of larvae super fast making just lings.
